Concordia University, Saint Paul

Fall 2003 Census Report

1 INTRODUCTORY COMMENTS Annual fall enrollment reports present census day snapshots of Concordia University, St. Paul students. The tenth class day of the fall semester is used annually as the census date for the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the College of Education (COE) and the College of Vocation and Ministry (CVM). The last Friday of September is used as the census date for the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS). All people registered for 1 or more credits are counted. Generally, students are considered full- time if registered for 12 or more credits on the census day. CGCS students are considered full-time if assigned to an active cohort. Standard full-time equivalency (FTE) is calculated by adding the number of full-time students to one-third of the number of part-time students. The budget FTE excludes students enrolled in continuing education courses only, high school postsecondary education option students (PSEO), CSP employees taking courses, and students in other special revenue categories. All FTE calculations are rounded off to the nearest whole number. (CSP employees in CGCS graduate programs were included in the budget FTE last year but are not included this year.)

Only those students who have “declared” majors identified in this way in Banner records are included in the second columns below. Not all students with declared majors in teacher education programs or church work certification programs have been officially admitted into those programs. Students can also identify majors of interest. The third columns contain those tallies. These columns include the total of both declared majors and majors not yet officially declared. Students with two different majors listed in their records are counted twice in the next three tables. Information on some students may not have been recently updated, so the tallies should be viewed as estimates of student interest.)
