SECTION INCLUDES

Design, labour, Products, equipment and services necessary for window vent operators Work in accordance with the Contract Documents.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

Window vent operating system for this project is based on the Mingardi linear actuator with the animeo DC - 4 window motor control unit by Somfy Systems Inc.

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

Design window vent operating system to interface with building automation system via momentary master dry contacts.

SUBMITTALS

Product data: Submit copies of manufacturer's Product data in accordance with Section 01 33 00 indicating: System performance criteria, controls, characteristics, limitations, and trouble-shooting protocol. Product transportation, storage, handling and installation requirements.

Shop drawings: Submit shop drawings in accordance with Section 01 33 00 indicating: Elevations, sections, details, materials, operating components, dimensions, gauges, finishes and relationship to operating components and adjacent construction. Complete electrical wiring diagrams including electrical schematics and sequence of operation. Complete engineering design data confirming that Products meet design criteria specified.

Closeout submittals: Submit following for incorporation into Operations and Maintenance Manuals in accordance with Section 01 78 00: Identification: Manufacturing name, type, year, serial number, number of units, capacity, and identification of related systems. Operating instructions and precautions. Safety precautions. Component parts availability including names and addresses of spare part suppliers.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Mock-up: Construct one mock-up of complete window vent operating system in location acceptable to Consultant. Arrange for Consultant's review and acceptance of mock-up prior to proceeding with Work. Mock-up may remain as part of Work if accepted by Consultant. Remove and dispose of mock-ups which do not form part of Work. Upon acceptance, mock-up shall serve as a minimum standard of quality for the balance of the work of this Section.

EXTENDED WARRANTY

Submit a warranty for window vent operating system in accordance with the Conditions of the Contract

Products

WINDOW VENT OPERATING SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Window control unit: Unit to provide actuator control and power distribution. Capable of interfacing with building automation system. Provide dry contact inputs to allow optional control of wall mounted local switch and to allow optional control down to a single window. Actuator power to be provided by either 5 or 10 amp UL approved switching type power supply to step voltage from 115V AC to 24 V DC.

Electric Drive Unit: Mingardi Micro S linear electric actuator with movement by a flat link chain contained inside a pre-finished housing. Housing colour to be selected from manufacturer’ standard colours of anodised silver or black Actuator to have an opening stroke of 250mm mm with a travel speed of 16 mm per second at maximum thrust load. Operating voltage to be 24V DC with a maximum current of 1.0 A at full tensile load of 200 N. Actuator to have operating time duty cycle of 50% and tested/rated for a life cycle of 10,000 cycles. Actuator to have internal limit switch system that provides automatic stopping at open and closed positions and operates independently of master control system .6 Actuator to be provided with manufacturers mounting hardware for project out windows Somfy Systems, Inc. FABRICATION

Verify dimensions of existing Work before commencing fabrications and report discrepancies to Consultant.

Fabricate Work in accordance with Contract Drawings and reviewed shop drawings. Fabricate, fit and assemble Work in shop where possible. Where shop fabrication is not possible, make trial assembly in shop.

Execution

EXAMINATION

Verify condition and dimensions of previously installed Work upon which this Section depends. Report defects to Consultant. Commencement of Work means acceptance of existing conditions.

INSTALLATION/APPLICATION/ERECTION

Install window vent operating system in accordance with reviewed shop drawings and manufacturer's written instructions.
