2007 IT TAG Minutes October 08, 2007

The 2007 Information Technology TAG convened at 1:09 p.m. Monday October 08, 2007.

The 2007 IT TAG meeting was attended by six current members and two proxies for current members. Six current members did not attend the meeting and did not send proxies. In addition to the TAG members, twenty-six interested persons from several agencies attended the 2007 meeting of the information technology TAG. Also in attendance were several representatives of InfoTech Incorporated.

The attending members were Don Grayson, Mississippi DOT; Joni Wissinger, Montana DOT; Sarah Collins, Louisiana DOTD; Cheryl Falcone, New York DOT; Andy Crenshaw, Alabama DOT; and Tony Compton, Texas DOT.

Two proxies attended the 2007 IT TAG meeting. Sharon Plymire served as proxy for Marcita Wade, Virginia DOT. Jim Johnson served as proxy for Todd Geiger, Florida DOT.

Andy Crenshaw, Cheryl Falcone, Marcita Wade, Todd Geiger, Don Grayson, Joni Wissinger, and Sarah Collins confirmed to remain on the IT TAG for upcoming year. Tony Compton is resigning from the IT TAG immediately after the 2007 conference, but not sooner.

The IT TAG voted to accept the 2006 TAG meeting minutes as written.

The TAG altered the Mission Statement, the Short Term Goals, and the Long Term Goals. The TAG voted to change some minor grammar issues and to change all references from “Next Generation Trns*port” and “NGT” to “web Trns*port”.

The TAG supports the inclusion of TMR 8039 with 8570. Both modification requests discuss the requirement to keep attachment functionality within Trns*port. The IT TAG wants to add comments to TMR 8570 expressing our concerns with performance when doing analysis against a database that contains both historical and transactional data.

The IT TAG endorses TMR 9607 which concerns regional options and currency formatting per contract.

The IT TAG endorses TMR 9655, which concerns a more logical organization of systems parameters tabs, “as a standard for web Trns*port”.

Don Grayson led a discussion of the web Trns*port Technical TRT and asked for members. Bob DeHoff of ITI led a discussion on remote access to Trns*port through a data services layer.

Our new officers for the next two years are Andy Crenshaw of Alabama as the TAG coordinator and Marcita Wade of Virginia as the assistant TAG coordinator.

The meeting adjourned at 3:56 p.m.
