Note: Referrals must be sent to [email protected], not to individual staff in the parenting service. The panel is held every Thursday. If the referral is not received before Thursday, your parent may miss out on joining the next up coming group.

Family Links This 10 session weekly course helps parents of children 2-12 years olds by offering many positive, practical and fun ways of guiding children so they can manage their feelings and behaviour. Based on the four core principles of self-reflection, positive discipline, empathy and appropriate expectations, the course help parents reflect on their own experience as a child and being parented and how this affects your parenting now. There is a focus on looking after yourself and understanding you and your own child’s emotional needs and build good communication and practical strategies to manage behaviour. Strengthening Families, Strengthening communities This is a 13 x 3 hour weekly programme for parents of children 2 -19 years old. This course explores the way families communicate and the influence of wider culture and community have on your family. This course promotes positive relationships for you and your children, teaching effective discipline methods to give you confidence and skills to make home life more manageable. Webster Stratton INCREDIBLE YEARS ® This 14 session 2.5 hr weekly course for parents of 2 – 6 year olds and 6-11yrs old aims to help parents to build positive and close relationships with their children, whilst at the same time teaching strategies to manage un acceptable behaviour. Topics include playing with your child, giving effective praise and rewards, setting clear and consistent limits and boundaries, choices and consequences and supporting your child’s education. How to make a Frameworki Referral –via the database system.

A referral can be made to the Parenting Service via Frameworki as follows.

1. From the Personal Details screen of a child’s record, NOT an adult’s record, select People from drop-down menu and select New Episode 2. Select the episode link CH Parenting Service Referra’ 3. On page 1 of 3 of the episode, select Create Document icon for the Parenting Service Referral 4. Complete the referral document as appropriate 5. Select document Save and Close 6. Select episode ‘Next>>’ page 7. On page 2 of 3 of the episode, select task link CH Notify Parenting Service of Referral 8. Select the drop-down field Pass to Worker and select the worker to whom the referral should be passed eg. Bavoray Stevens 9. Select task OK 10. Select episode Save and Close No further action is required. The episode CH Parenting Service Referral will be completed (finished) by the Parenting Service.”
