1. What is the purpose of Great Leaps? Great Leaps Reading supplements the teacher's ongoing reading fluency program to improve the reading achievement of students.

2. Who is the intended recipient of the Great Leaps program? The target recipients of the Great Leaps program include beginning readers, at risk readers, and students with emotional and/or learning disabilities.

3. How are students placed in the Great Leaps program? Participation in the Great Leaps program is based on Reading CBM assessments. During the last benchmarking period there was a discrepancy in his/her fluency.

4. What are the components of the Great Leaps program? The Great Leaps program includes Sound Awareness, Letter Recognition & Phonics, High Frequency Words & Phrases and Story components for fluency practice.

5. How do I know if my child is making progress? Student progress is communicated through parent/teacher conferences and quarterly updates. Additionally, regular progress monitoring and CBM benchmarks will measure your child’s growth.
