Therapeutic Walks 3. Therapeutic Holds 4. 2 Person techniques 5. Complex Releases 6. Simple releases 7. Blocks  Medical Devices management 1. Hoyer lift 2. Buckle guards  Lifting 1. Advanced Transfer assistance 2. Track Systems 3. Bath\ Bed lifts

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS College Degree preferred, GED or High school Diploma equivalent with Approval and or experience

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Thorough knowledge of Preventative and Restrictive techniques Understanding of Reading Medication Labels, dosage requirements Hoyer lifts, transfers, Positioning

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Medication Administration NCI Core NCI Core Plus Client Specific Trainings per Consumer needs

Reports to: Clinical Supervisor: Supervision shall be provided by a qualified professional with the population served. A supervision contract will be reviewed upon hiring. The parties shall review the plan annually. Job Summary: An individual who provides a DD (developmental disabilities) services and actively engages in administering consumer medications and monitoring and implementing consumer behavioral treatment plans.

Essential Functions Section I. Goal: Staff will ensure consumer’s health/safety while promoting independence and showing consumer respect.

A. Staff demonstrates a working knowledge and follows the consumer’s PCP, routines and needs. This will be reviewed during supervisions.

B. Staff uses person-centered language and treats consumer with respect at all times.

C. Staff follows proper procedure for notifying supervisor of all incidents/accidents and required paperwork within set time lines.

D. Staff promotes consumer’s independence according to consumer’s PCP.

E. Staff maintains appropriate boundaries with the family/consumer /team as noted during supervisions, team meetings, etc.

F. Staff anticipates consumer’s needs and acts proactively.

G. Staff actively participates as a member of their consumer’s team.

H. Staff seeks to interact and promote interaction with their consumer and others.

Section II. Goal: Staff will complete data in a timely fashion and submit data on time.

A. Data is completed without clinical errors as demonstrated by the completion of the documentation review sheet.

B. Staff will complete data the day or service or within 24 hours as demonstrated by random checks of documentation by any supervisor of LHS. Data will be reviewed during supervisions (per the supervision contract) with a Clinical Supervisor.

C. Staff will understand how to bill time correctly by reviewing billing sheet provided by supervisor(s)

and evidenced by no billing errors.

D. Data/Timesheets are turned in on the dates set forth by the agency.

E. Staff completes data correction within the given timeframe. Section III. Goal: Staff will follow all agency policies and procedures

A. Staff keeps personnel information up to date per Agency Policies.

B. Staff works assigned shift and arrives on time.

C. Staff gives proper notice of all leave time.

D. Reviews all policy updates as posted to the web. For Habilitation Technicians that do not have web access, the computer lab at the office is available for use to review policies and policy updates.

E. Staff understands and adheres to all agency policies (i.e. General Code of Conduct).

F. Returns all (CS, HR, Training, etc.) Phone Calls and E-mails in a timely manner (24 hours). Section IV. Goal: Staff will maintain professionalism at all times

A. Staff is receptive to feedback/constructive criticism and is quick to implement.

B. Staff maintains professionalism at all times.

C. Staff is approachable to discuss difficult situations.

Job Requirements and Qualifications: Staff must have their own transportation; current car insurance, vehicle registration, and state inspection; valid driver’s license; physical; annual criminal background check; 3 professional letters of reference;

Knowledge Requirements: As stated in 10A NCAC 27G. 0204 (c) Paraprofessional shall demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities required by the population served. (e) Competence shall be demonstrated by exhibiting core skills including: (1) technical knowledge; (2) cultural awareness; (3) analytical skills; (4) decision-making; (5) interpersonal skills; (6) communication skills; and (7) clinical skills.

Experience: None required, but any involvement with people with developmental disabilities is preferred. Experience can be personal, volunteer, or paid experiences.
