MINUTES, HENDERSON CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2014

Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Paul Menne at the community meeting room. Present were council members Jeff Steinborn, James Brenno and Randy Tiegs. Also present were Police Chief Randy Haken, Byron Jost, Cory James, Mary Ann Pilling and Nick Pollack.

Motion Steinborn, seconded Brenno to approve minutes from the May 21, 2014 meeting. Motion carried.

Meeting moved to Market and 7th Street area to discuss the water improvement project with Cory James from I & S and Mary Ann Pilling from the 1900 Group. Meeting resumed at the meeting room at approximately at 8:15 PM.

Police Chief Haken presented the June monthly report including citation information, squad car use, roll-in update.

After additional discussion on the proposed water project motion by Brenno, seconded Tiegs to take bids for this project at 10 AM Thursday, July 10, 2014 and set a special meeting for 7:30 P.M. that evening to review these bids. Motion carried.

Byron Jost went over a proposal for Region 9 to provide a comprehensive plan for the City of Henderson.

Discussion and decision to postpone until more information and examples are provided.

City Administrator reported on activity report and National Weather Service flood forecast information. Closures planned to be put in on the weekend.

Jeff Steinborn discussed information on library improvements.

Motion Tiegs, seconded Brenno to accept the proposal from Steve Fries Construction to roof the library for a price not to exceed $12,000-both the old and new part. Motion carried.

MRVPUC report that Kruger part of project completed, other items being worked on; no joint meeting has been scheduled.

Menne reported on Sibley County Municipalities meeting.

Menne also reported on naming the new park and discussed the post office survey.

Motion Brenno, seconded Steinborn to approve the following bills with the motion carried.

Motion Tiegs, seconded Brenno to approve the revised meeting schedule; motion carried.
