Meeting minutes
March 13, 2013
Opening:
The March 13, 2013 regular meeting of the EAA CHAPTER 526 was called to order by President Dan Wojdac at 7:00 P.M. at the Auburn Chapter Hanger. The pledge of allegiance to the flag was lead by Dan Wojdac. There were 34 members present and five guests. The guests were Tom Finney, Kevin Finney, Christopher Braun, Brad Grant and Joe Farrell.
Approval of the February Minutes:
Motion to approve made by Gary Patburg, seconded by Ira Mason.
Officers Present:
Dan Wojdac, President, Anthony Wright Sr., Secretary, Duane Rueb, Director, Greg Duda, Director, Ivan Karnezis, Vice President, Gary Patburg, Director, and Stan Kisbey, Director.
Treasurer’s Report:
President Wojdac announced that Milt Ciarlarello would not be attending this night’s meeting and, therefore, President Wojdac gave a report that stated that all the bills are paid up to date and future bills are funded.
Project Status Reports:
Nick Sucia reported no progress on his Sky Arrow; Jack Prock was getting the wings on his Velocity prepped for painting; Pete Equa reported no progress on the Mini Imp or the and that the Space Jumper has overheating problems; Brad Hawley is still working on the fuel tank of the auto gyro; Mark Weitkamp reported no progress on his CX-4; John Howard has made progress on his Zenith 750 and will be moving it to the Auburn Airport soon. He needs to find out who at the Sacramento FSDO inspects aircraft.
Young Eagles:
Greg Duda reported that we will be flying Young Eagles next on April 13, 2013. He needs pilots and ground crew. He asked everyone to be ready and to ask him if there were any questions.
Shirts, hats, name tags:
Greg Duda announced that he has patches and name tags for sale. Ivan Karnezis has apparel and Bill Turpie has name tags
. Announcements from the floor:
A representative of the Gyro House Pilot’s shop announced that the shop would soon be enlarged and remodeled so as to have a bigger stock of items for sale. Since Sacramento Sky Ranch is closing they want to fill in the breach. They would like local pilot input as to the supplies that are needed. They will be competitive with the internet shops as to prices. Larry Borchert announced that Al Thym was now home from the hospital and would like visitors. Lynn cook announced that our next meeting would have food and that he would be trying to have something other than hot dogs and hamburgers. Dan Wojdac discussed the article in the Sport Pilot magazine about fatal accidents in experimental aircraft. Most of the accidents were due to pilot error. Pete Requa announced that we have 108 members on the list but that several have not paid their dues. Tom Brady gave a report on the new airport sign being considered. It will have a three-bladed prop as a center piece donated by Evan Wolfe. Duane Rueb said the granite base would be one large rock excavated near Sierra College and donated by Osborn Rock Walls. President Wojdac handed out a questionnaire from the City of Auburn requesting feedback from pilots concerning the airport.

Cookies and coffee were provided.
Program:
Roger Mostar, and ex-Air Force U-2 pilot, gave a presentation on the U-2 aircraft and its history, including videos.
