Unit I syllabus: Vehicle structure and Engines Types of Automobiles - Vehicle Construction – Chassis – Frame and Body – aerodynamics. Components of Engine – Their forms, Functions and Materials - Review of Cooling and Lubrication systems in Engine – Turbo Chargers – Engine Emission Control by 3–Way Catalytic Controller – Electronic Engine Management System.

Objective: To make the students familiar with the various parts of the automobile and there functions,& materials.

Unit II syllabus: ENGINE AUXILIARY SYSTEMS Carburetor–working principle- Electronic fuel injection system – Mono-point and Multi - Point Injection Systems – Construction, Operation and Maintenance of Lead Acid Battery - Electrical systems – Battery generator – Starting Motor and Drives – Lighting and Ignition (Battery, Magneto Coil and Electronic Type)-Regulators-cut outs.
