A workshop jointly sponsored by the Department of History, Columbia University, and the Nederlandse Taalunie under the auspices of the Queen Wilhelmina Visiting Professorship at Columbia University.

Presenters include Professors Peter Stabel (University of Antwerp), Arie van Steensel (Utrecht University), Quentin van Doosselare (Independent Scholar), Denis Menjot (University of Lyon II), Francesca Trivellato (Yale University), and Dan Smail (Harvard University). Formal discussants include Ramzi Rouighi (University of Southern California), Marc Boone (University of Ghent), Adam Kosto (Columbia University), Maryanne Kowaleski (Fordham University), Lluís To-Figueras (University of Girona), and Martha Howell (Columbia University).

Papers will be distributed in advance to all registrants to facilitate general discussion.

Registration is required, but there is no fee. To register, email the attached form to Ben Serby, at [email protected]. Graduate students who register no later than September 15th will be guaranteed a place, space permitting. Email confirmation of registration, the program, and further information will follow. Morning and afternoon coffee, a light catered lunch, and a Belgian beer reception at the end of the workshop will be offered.
