NetInsight Version 8.2
Key Differences As you begin examining the new version of NetInsight, you will likely notice several differences. You will notice a change in the look and feel of the interface and a number of feature enhancements. In addition, since EMS has reloaded all page tag data from 2006 to present, it is very likely your page tag metrics will be somewhat larger in the year your metrics profile was activated in NetInsight. EMS has chosen to load all page tag data, even that received during your UAT testing period. If you have questions, please contact us at [email protected]. New Interface Features Inbox For Reports: There is now a NetInsight Inbox that provides access to the ad-hoc reports you run from NetInsight. This enables you to continue working while you wait for your reports to be generated rather than waiting for each query to complete and present results. Once the report completes, you will be notified with a pop-up message. This feature can also be used to keep track of the steps you take as you drill down and successively slice and dice your metrics.
Multi-Edit Mode: Instead of regenerating a report every time you add, remove, or reorder a filter, metric or dimension, NetInsight now holds report changes until you click Run Report. This enables you to make multiple changes to a report before the report is generated.
Custom Dashboard With Graphs and Tables: Previously custom dashboards could only consist of charts with their legends. Now, custom dashboards can contain table sections consisting of one dimension and one metric.
Contextual Metric Percentages: You can now choose whether your percentage metrics are based on page totals, report totals, or time period totals. You can also hide metric percentages. The subtotal and total rows at the bottom of the report page reflect the selected metric percentage setting.
Item Numbers Added to Dashboard Graphs: The x-axis and legend of graphs in dashboards now contain item numbers. This change applies to line charts, bar charts, and pie charts.
Scenario report enhancements: A new drag and drop interface for creating and reordering scenario reports has been added, allowing you to create scenario reports on-the-fly..It is no longer necessary to create a visitor profile before creating a scenario report.
Reporting Enhancements Enhancements to geographic data: NetInsight version 8.2.0 contains a new geographic database with the following enhancements to geographic data and reporting: o More accurate and frequently updated IP data. o State or province data for more countries. o Data for Designated Marketing Area and Postal Code. These dimensions are available to add to reports. o New geographic report: DMA (Designated Marketing Area) Summary o Geographic data functionality is embedded in NetInsight; there is no need for a separate geographical data conduit.
