4. Here are some activities that may help kids learn specific social skills, from staying in line to negotiating a compromise with peers. In addition, these activities may give kids the opportunity to practice perspective-taking, mind- reading, and emotional self-control. The list is divided into two parts. The first part features games and activities appropriate for preschoolers and school-aged children. The second part describes social skills activities for teenagers. Do these activities work? In most cases, it’s hard to say: There just aren’t any experimental studies testing their effectiveness. But the activities are inspired by research, and many are adapted from techniques used by therapists and conflict resolution specialists. Check them out here: http://www.parentingscience.com/social-skills- activities.html

5. Here you'll find lots of information on raising a deaf or hard-of-hearing child. The information is relative to parents of newborns, children, and teens. Find out what other parents, families, and kids say about having or being a child with hearing loss. There are also sections about self-esteem ,safety, maturational changes, sexuality, learning, and playing. All of the site’s information can be viewed in English and Spanish. http://www.raisingdeafkids.org/index.php
