COMBAT Queen’s Own Yeomanry LOGISTICS AND SUPPORT INTELLIGENCE, IT & COMMS HR & FINANCE MEDICAL

Regimental Role

 The Queen’s Own Yeomanry Regiment (QOY) primary combat role is Light Cavalry using Armoured Fighting Vehicles (Wheeled). At the heart of the capability is the Reconnaissance soldier. Intelligent, inquisitive, analytical, mentally agile, physically fit, and robust, the Reconnaissance soldier will provide the building block to an organisation that can apply itself across the mosaic of conflict. Capable of both FIND and INFLUENCE.

 The Regiment is supported by other cap badges including the Royal Logistic Corp (RLC), Adjutant General Corp (AGC) and Royal Army Medical Corp (RAMC).

Recruit Vacancies

 Officers and Soldiers. - We currently have vacancies for both Officers and soldiers in all of the Squadrons.

Trade structure

 R-WMIK Crewman, Chefs, Radio Operators, Clerks, Combat Medics and Physical Training Instructors.

Note: R-WMIK crewman – This will consist of the following trades, Gunner, Driver (Class C licence minimum), vehicle Commander

Age on Enlistment

 Officers - 18 Yrs to 50 Yrs. Online application can start at 17 years and 9 months.  Soldiers - 18 Yrs to 50 Yrs. Online application can start at 17 years and 9 months.

Qualifications Required

 Officers - 35 ALIS Points and 180 UCAS Points

 Soldiers - Nil

Training

 Tuesday evenings between 7.30pm - 9.30pm at York and Newcastle  Wednesday evenings between 7.30pm - 9.30pm at Wigan.  Thursday evenings between 7.30pm - 9.30pm at Chester  Up to two training weekends a month.  Various Adventurous Training exercises & sporting events.  Exercise training at weekends and one annual two week exercise (Annual Camp), which can be in the UK or abroad.
