Position: Software Engineer Intern

Location: Manassas, Virginia

Job Description

The software engineer intern will be primarily responsible for working on JAVA based web applications. The intern will be responsible for design, analysis, programming, and testing of applications/scripts. Candidates must be self- motivated, able to work in team environments, comfortable with hands on learning/development and fast learners. The intern may interface with customers or clients as needed. Mentoring by experienced software development staff will be available.

Skills Required

 Knowledge/experience developing applications in object oriented programming with JAVA, C++, or C# (abstraction, inheritance, overloading, polymorphism, modularity)  Understanding of code data structures, complexity, and algorithms  Strong problem solving skills  Strong written and verbal skills  U.S. Citizen

Skills Desired

 Experience with HTML/CSS  Familiar with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)  Familiar with Unix/Linux scripting  Knowledge of XML  Knowledge of model, view, controller architecture  Knowledge of the emerging HTML5 standard

Education Required

 Holds High school Diploma

 Seeking Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Engineering
