1 II SG Meeting Call To Order -Chair 1 8:00 AM The chair called the meeting to order and introduced the topic, purpose and objectives of the meeting. 2 MI Appoint interim secretary -Chair 5 8:01 AM The chair called asked for a volunteer to serve as interim chair. Stephen Berger of TEM Consulting ([email protected]) volunteered to serve. 3 II Roll Call -Chair 15 8:06 AM Self-introductions were held of those present. A sign-in sheet was started around the room (see list at end of the minutes). Review IEEE/802 & 802.11 Policies and Rules (esp. voting 4 II -Chair 5 8:21 AM open to all in SG) The chair reviewed the IEEE Patent Policy.
The chair then made a presentation on the history and background of IEEE 802, followed by a presentation of the IEEE 802.11 process for developing a project from inception to published document. (11-04-0038-00-0wpp) 5 MI Modify and/or Approve Agenda -Chair 15 8:26 AM The chair reviewed the agenda and asked for approval of it. (11-04-0041-00-0wpp) 6 MI Election for permanent SG Secretary -Chair 20 8:41 AM The chair called for candidates to serve as permanent secretary. There were no volunteers. Stephen Berger agreed to continue serving on a temporary basis until a permanent secretary was identified. 7 II Chair's Review of Objectives for the Session -Chair 5 9:01 AM The chair reviewed the objectives for the session. 8 II 802.11 Processes -Chair 15 9:06 AM Covered as part of agenda item 4. 9 II Project Background and Overview -Berger 20 9:21 AM Stephen Berger presented a background and possible roadmap for the project. Stephen Berger of TEM made a presentation on the CTIA antenna Berger performance. Fanny Milinarsk of Azimuth Systems presented an analysis of Milinarsky critical variables for performance prediction.
Tom Alexander of Veriwave gave a presentation on the needs of Alexander equipment users. (11-03-0930-00-0wng) 14 DT PAR and 5 Criteria -Chair 20 9:21 AM The chair reviewed the ESS-Mesh PAR and 5 criteria as an example for the WPP project. 15 DT Discussions of Next Steps -All 30 12:00 PM MOTION: “Move that the chair of the WPP study group request of the WG to authorize weekly conference calls to develop the PAR, 5 criteria and hold related technical discussions for the WPP SG, starting February 19, 2004, 11-12 AM ET, during the term of the SG.” Moved – Charles Wright, Second – Scott Blue Discussion followed Approved: 18 Opposed: 0 Abstain: 2
Scott Blue offered to provide the conference bridge and lead the calls.
The chair reissued a call for voting members willing to serve as SG chair. Tom Alexander of Veriwave and Charles Wright of Azimuth Systems volunteered. 16 * Adjourn 0 12:30 PM
