Improvement Advisors The Improvement Advisor facilitates PfP projects to promote best practices and clinical initiatives focused at hospital and physician improvement efforts.

Lean/Leadership/Performance Improvement Practices to improve operational effectiveness and create a culture of continuous improvement that are recommended for achieving overall operational excellence. Your Improvement Advisor can also assist you in improvement work in all PfP areas.

Physician and Board Engagement Dr. Tom Evans or IHA senior leadership staff are available to speak to your hospital leadership on PfP or quality improvement.

TeamSTEPPS Training TeamSTEPPS is a teamwork system designed for health care professionals to improve patient safety within your organization utilizing an evidence-based teamwork system to enhance communication and teamwork skills among health care professionals.

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Survey This survey tool can be used to assess the safety culture of a hospital or specific units within hospitals and to track changes in patient safety over time.

Teach Back Training Teach back is a way to confirm that the healthcare provider has explained to the patient what they need to know in a manner that the patient understands. Patient understanding is confirmed when the patient can explain the information back to the healthcare provider in their own words.
