Computer on Tuesday at 2:05. All School mass on Friday. I will be out for a conference on 12/5. Ms. Morgan will be subbing. Over the next 2 week period I am “on call” for jury duty. I will find out the day before at 5PM whether or not I’ve been called. I have done lesson plans and have subs on stand- by. Hopefully, I will not be called to serve.

Spelling: Final syllable le: able, ankle, apple, bubble, bugle, bundle, cable, giggle, purple, sparkle, tickle, title.

Reading: We will be reading Dear Juno. The vocabulary words are: persimmons, smudged, answer, company, faraway, parents, picture, school, wash. We will discuss drawing conclusions, the parts of a friendly letter, and verbs with singular and plural nouns. We will also be reviewing various English skills previously introduced. Expect a quiz on Friday.

Religion: This week we’re discussing the Christmas season. We will make a timeline of events leading up to Jesus’s birth.

Math: In chapter 7 we will learn: to find the value of a group of coins consisting of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars; we will also show amounts of money in more than one way and find the fewest number of coins to equal a given amount; we will compare an amount of money to the cost of an item; find the amount of change after making a purchase; apply regrouping in addition and subtraction of money; identify a dollar bill and dollar coin; count and find amounts of coins equal to a dollar; identify the place value of money amounts; and find the value of a group of bills and coins.

Social Living: We will read and discuss a number of books about the westward movements including books about the Goldrush and the Trail of Tears.

Spelling: Write words 1x each and practice any missed. Quiz tomorrow.

Math: No written work due. Practice making change and counting various amounts of money with parent.
