Aware of syllable stress within words and word stress within phrases. 4. Able to decipher connected speech in rapid American English.

There will be a mid-term and final exam. The dates for each exam will be announced before. This course is designed for students from any non-English language background, and the student may be at any level of English writing ability. It is a course that should improve the student’s listening ability just as much as his/her speaking ability.
