MEDIA RELEASE Contact: Brad Rugg, Superintendent, 612-624-8443 HOLSTEIN DAIRY CHAMPIONS NAMED AT THE 4-H SHOWS
St. Paul, MN (8/25/13) - There were 469 head of dairy cattle show at the 4-H Dairy Shows held during this year’s Minnesota State Fair held on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013. Steve Hendress placed the Registered Holsteins class and is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Hendress owned and operated Hoosier Knoll Brown Swiss Farm for 18 years. Bob Hagenow of Manitowoc, WI lined up the Grade Holsteins this year. Hagenow has worked for Vita Plus Corporation since 1987. Jon Schefers was the Total Merit Judge for this year’s 4-H Dairy Show. He is currently a Regional Sire Analyst for Alta Genetics and resides in Madison, WI.
