Minutes of the Silver Hills POA- draft January, 16, 2014 Gail Hortick’s House
The quarterly meeting was called to order at 7:06pm by board member Joanne Noble. Board members present: Sherry Walker, Shari St. Clair, Severo Garza, Gail Hortick, Michele Harris, Llyod Swartz (for Carol) Guests: Bob Cook, Janet Fabick, Connie Polson
Treasurer’s Report:
1. As of January 16, 2014 we have $10,954 in our bank account.
2. Pending expenses- property taxes to be paid to Comal County
3. New Treasurer, Blake Hoekstra
Old Business:
1. Firehouse- the Silver Hills Firehouse Use Contract was accepted and signed by Bulverde EDS. It is s two year contract.
2. Front Entrance Lights- Severo is getting new batteries for the front entrance lights to keep the lights on longer in the evening.
3. Association Options- the lawyer is looking into our options as an association. Possibilities include, re-organization, Charging by lot, and/or Increasing fees.
4. Park Drive Property-
a. A bill was sent to the owner’s lawyers for the cost of cutting a section of the driveway and adding a new section to the opposite side.
b. May have to sue to get money back or place a lien on the property.
5. Front Entrance Design- Grady Jennings is working on getting an idea of the cost of construction before talking to TXDOT.
6. Front Entrance Information Board- Shari St. Clair will check with Kendall County in getting a variance to place an information Board near the front of the neighborhood. She will also look into the cost.
New Business:
1. Property on Desert Gold- operating a business on property. JoAnne asked for a motion to pay the lawyer to write a letter to the owner.
2. Other Properties- will send letters to the following homeowners
a. Silver Hills- Remodel
b. 1749 Sparkman- clean-up/operating a business

3. Newsletter/Clean-up day- to go out this spring.
4. Stray Cats- owner on Desert Gold complained about stray cats on her property. The board recommended calling Kendall County to bring out traps and Hill Country Animal League for low cost spray/neuter.
