Proven Record – Across All Major Corporate Functions: I am skilled in all areas of executive management, including: developing operations, building premier service networks, creating innovative packaging and public relations, and expanding into new service lines and markets. I am well seasoned with sales and marketing support and espouse the value that business development is everyone's responsibility.  Since arriving on the west coast and realizing the juxtaposition of the senior care industry, my professional focus became set on ALF/RCF. As an Executive Director and Wellness Director for industry leaders like Brookdale and Merrill Gardens, I continued to provide exceptional senior care in a leadership role. This includes improved community relations, creative program development, labor and cost management, EMR implementation and improved regulatory compliance.

 As an Independent Consultant, I have worked with multiple clients across the country with start-up planning and growth strategies. Also, I accomplished numerous successful turnarounds for SNFs and ALFs, attaining all goals on or ahead of timeline. Work included extensive community outreach and business development.

 Opened the New England branch operation of national hospice “start-up” from office procurement and lease negotiation to hiring multidisciplinary staff, negotiated favorable contract terms with local and regional supply chains (DME, supplies, and local pharmacy), initiated marketing efforts with tremendous immediate yield (11,000 referral beds before the license was granted) and application for licensure and certification as well as the accompanying survey management while Program Director / Administrator at Compassionate Care Hospice (2007-2008).

 Led corporate effectiveness program for national training ramp-up of newly purchased clinical software (EMR) program. As Lead Clinical Trainer at Genesis HealthCare Corporation (2005- 2006), I implemented, trained and supported more than 43 nursing facilities in 7 states and achieved consistently highest post-training utilization and compliance scores company-wide. In addition to direct training and implementation responsibilities, I did troubleshooting and “work-around” development until permanent problem correction could be developed by engineers.

 Reversed a profit decline and built revenue for a multilevel nursing facility. I served as Director of Operations/COO for Sudbury Pines Extended Care Center (2003-2005), working in a uniquely challenging environment. I accomplished these ends through innovative customer focused programming, improved community relations, revenue stream enhancements through better tuned payer mix and improved regulatory compliance scores, leaving this skilled nursing facility full with a waiting list and generating positive cash flow.

 As President and CEO of QAC Healthcare Group (1989-2003), I founded and developed the largest independent management and consulting firm on the eastern seaboard, growing the company from a one man operation to a complex multilevel corporation servicing more than 919 health care facilities (SNF, ALF, Acute Care, Hospice, etc.) in 17 states. Simultaneously managed 5 SNFs in 2 states as well as turned around numerous ALF communities. Developed unique innovative programs with tandem education for staff training and compliance.

 Other Skills: Federal CMS (HCFA) trained in Long Term Care survey/final rule regulatory operation/enforcement guidelines (St Louis, MO - 1995). Appointed to “Clinical Best Practices Task Force” (MA Department of Public Health/MA Extended Care Federation) (2001-2003) and “Informal Dispute Resolution Pilot Program Mediator” (MA Department of Public Health/MA Extended Care Federation) (2001-2003). Developed numerous innovative multilevel Plans of Correction (POC) which were not only accepted but used as regulatory guideline development by state and federal agencies for SNF, ALF (incl: Memory Care specialty units). Highly personable and capable of working with other CEOs, family controlled businesses and corporate (including “not for profit”) boards. Hands-on executive capable of efficiently managing all levels of budgets (from departmental up to multi-facility). Multilingual (English, Spanish, French).
