Section A: Our Business Details

Business Name Super Brains shop Business Activity MAKING OF GIFT CARDS No. of students involved in business idea activities (including writing this Business Boys 9 Girls 12 Total 21 Idea) Section B: Our School 1. To help you understand our school business better, we will briefly describe our school (e.g. age of the students; location; environment). Our school is situated in Kenya, Nairobi County, Dagoretti district, Ngando ward on Juhudi lane. The school is in Ngando slums of Nairobi. In this slum we have a vibrant furniture business around. The pupils involved are aged between ages 8 and 15 years.

Section C: Our Resources 2. Here is a description of the resources available at our school that we could use to start a business, including how we can use the school location as a business opportunity and how we could use our skills for our school business.

The business needs banana fibre, paper of different colours, scissors, chopping board, thread and clothing. The clothing is assembled from rejects from tailors while dry banana fibres are assembled from the local homes around. We neighbour Karen estate that is a home for the rich or commonly known as upper class. They are our target customers and the neighbouring malls will equally be our target for marketing. The children will use their skills to prepare the cards, advertise, market and even sell them during free hours. 1 BRONZE Business Idea Template 2017. ©Teach A Man To Fish [email protected] Section D: Generating Business Ideas 3. a) When putting our heads together these are the five business ideas we thought of:

i)Making gift cards ii) Tailoring iii) Raring chicken (Layers) iv) Making bans v) Car washing

b) The business we would like to set up is: Making gift cards And these are 3 reasons why we chose this idea: 1. Materials are easily available 2. Ready market 3. Doesn’t require a lot of capital and space to start

4. Our final Business Idea will be sustainable and have a positive impact on the environment and our community because: We shall sell to the locals and in big malls. The cards will have different messages from saving the environment to responsible families. As we design the cards we shall put different themes in mind. WE hope whoever will be buying will be attracted to the different themes addressed. This in itself will be one way of creating positive impact in the community and help save the environment.

Section E: Start-Up Capital

Additional Comments: The children will pick discarded pieces of cloth from the tailors, some have agreed to donate items like needles, thread, two pairs of scissors and chop board to start of the project.
