Clear Lake 2018 Delivery Schedule The Food Bank of Iowa is pleased to continue to offer delivery to Clear Lake twice a month to the following partner agency site:

Opportunity Village 1200 N Ninth St West Clear Lake, IA 50428

The Food Bank of Iowa driver will arrive at Opportunity Village at approximately 10:00am, weather permitting. Staff and/or volunteers should arrive between 9:45am and 10:00am to pick up the order. If you are running late, please call the Food Bank of Iowa at (515) 564-0330 so that we can notify the driver to make arrangements.

Perishable food items that are available on the Clear Lake delivery truck may be picked up by food pantries or partner agencies serving on-site meals. BACKPACK PROGRAM AGENCIES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PICK UP ADDITIONAL PERISHABLE ITEMS SUCH AS PRODUCE, MILK OR EGGS FOR DISTRIBUTION.

Please remind your staff or volunteers that it is your responsibility to leave the loading area tidy and free of packing debris. This includes the plastic wrap used on the pallets. Dumpsters are available on-site for disposal of packing debris. Please remember to bring your freezer blanket/coolers to transport any refrigerated or frozen items, you will not be able to take these items without a freezer blanket or sufficient cooler space.

The order window opens two weeks prior to your delivery date. Orders are due no later than 12:00pm (noon) on the day of your order due date (one week before delivery date). If you are having a problem submitting your order please call us as soon as possible so we can ensure your order makes it on the delivery.

1. All partner agency orders must be submitted through the Primarius Online Ordering System by 12:00pm (noon) on the due date listed on the delivery schedule.

2. We recommend that partner agencies bring a copy of their confirmation e-mail to the delivery site.

3. Partner agencies MUST arrive at the delivery location at the time indicated on the delivery schedule.

4. If a partner agency is unable to arrive at the delivery location on time, they MUST contact the Food Bank of Iowa to make arrangements for their order.

5. If a partner agency does not show up for the scheduled delivery and has not called before the delivery is complete, the order will be returned to Des Moines. If your agency does not call to make arrangements by the end of business on the day of the delivery, your order will be returned to inventory and the agency will be assessed a restocking fee of $25 on their next billing statement.

6. Partner agencies picking up refrigerated and/or frozen items such as meat, produce, dairy, and deli products are required to use coolers or insulated blankets year-round to ensure food products are safely stored and transported. Insulated blankets are available for purchase on inventory – product number 8014.

7. Partner agencies that do not have a freezer blanket or coolers with ice packs will be unable to pick up cold product and it will be returned to inventory.

8. Order to the size of the vehicle making the pick-up. You must pick up your entire order. Failure to do so could result in a restocking fee of $25 on your next billing statement.

9. Vehicles must be clean and free from contaminates such as old tires or batteries prior to arriving at the delivery.

10. When possible, we recommend that agencies check the contents of their order prior to leaving the delivery site, any discrepancies in your order must be brought to the Food Bank’s attention the same day of the delivery.

Helpful Hints  Bring an additional person to help with the loading.

 All items must be secured in the vehicle and protected from the elements.

 Helping other agencies load their vehicles will ensure a speedy pick-up for all agencies.  Refrigerator and freezer items will be unloaded last. Please make sure to wait for your whole order.

 Sometimes there will be a pallet with multiple agency orders. Please wait for the delivery driver instruction before taking your product.
