Changes to CAT Office Responsibilities

At the November 2007 and February 2008 CAT meetings, the Board of Directors discussed at length and then voted to change the operation of the virtual “CAT Office” to be handled by CAT officers and other members. Effective with the publication of the February 2008 Proceedings, the following changes will take place:

1. The execution of some of the office functions previously handled by the CAT Assistant will be taken over by Kristina Takeshita of LAPD. These responsibilities will include CAT mail, responding to phone and email messages, meeting registration and logistics, printing and mailing of the Proceedings, mailing and receipt of dues notices, and publication of the CAT membership Roster. Kristina has resigned her position as Member-at-Large, South, in order to take on these responsibilities for CAT. Dan Anderson of the LA County Coroner was appointed by the Board to the remainder of her term of office.

2. The primary contact for meeting hosts will be the CAT Vice President, whose Board responsibility is meetings and their programs, and is also the coordinator for hotel arrangements and contracts. The CAT Vice President is currently Michelle Sandberg of the LA County Coroner.

3. The major responsibility for Membership activities will be assumed by the Membership Secretary, currently Nadina Giorgi of CA DOJ, to include initiation of new memberships, recording of membership dues, maintaining the CAT Membership Roster, and primary responsibility for the online membership system when implemented in early 2008.

The new mailing address and phone number change for CAT is being announced simultaneously in the February 2008 Proceedings and on the CAT website.
