Social Media Marketing (Undergraduate) - Facebook, blogs, YouTube, Twitter, and other new technologies have changed and challenged the marketing landscape. By analyzing case studies and examining current uses of social media marketing, students will learn how to harness the power of user- generated content to create buzz, position products, and raise brand awareness. The course will emphasize strategies for measuring the effectiveness of social media marketing campaigns.

World TeamTennis January 2001 - April 2002 Vice President

World TeamTennis, founded in 1974 by tennis legend Billie Jean King owns / sells professional tennis team franchises, manages 100 recreation tennis leagues and charity events through out the United States.

 Responsible for the business operations of three companies, 12 employees and 60 volunteers. Including HR duties, insurance policies, banking, invoices, business licenses, profit /loss and product fulfillment.  Reorganized the World TeamTennis Recreation Division. By implementing current technology, saved the organization $350,000, increased collections and eliminated two staff positions in 2002.  Developed and implemented the first World TeamTennis online registration site. While being the first in the industry, it has resulted in automated registration, predictable cash flow and decreased data input errors by 90%.  Managed all Information Systems, including 3 web sites, 30 domains, DSL, online store, wireless network, virtual server and email system for 15 users in 4 national offices.  Responsible for budgets and forecasting for all companies.  Developed a $25K World TeamTennis marketing plan. National Marketing Manager January 1998 - January 2001 United States Tennis Association / National Office

Founded in 1881, the United States Tennis Association is a not-for-profit organization committed to growing the game of tennis through out the nation. The USTA boasts a membership of 610,000 members ranging from the local elementary student to the professional athlete. In addition to owning the US Open, the USTA also manages the Davis Cup, Fed Cup and USA Olympic Tennis teams.

 Responsible the general marketing, brand management and sponsorship sales in 17 regional offices and 130 secondary markets through out the nation.  Facilitated a national training program for both USTA Sectional staff and volunteers in the areas of marketing, sponsorship sales and advertising.  Developed sponsorship packages for USTA regional and national properties, each package ranges from $25,000 to $350,000.  Managed the usage of all USA Tennis and USTA Section marks. This includes merchandise, web sites, print and electronic advertisements.  Sold a $6 million dollar, five-year, affinity credit card contract.  Responsible for a $1.5 million dollar budget.  Developed and managed a USTA Member Event program at 45 professional tennis and tennis related events in 2000. To include contracts, direct mail, signage, sales booths, hospitality tents and staff management.

Marketing Director United States Tennis Association / New England

 Responsible for the general marketing and maintenance of the USTA, USTA/New England and the USA Tennis brands in the New England.  Developed and sold new sponsorship and promotional campaigns for USA Tennis, USA League Tennis and the USTA/ New England Junior Circuit.  Accountable for a $120,000 marketing budget.  Increased sales revenues by 10% on the USTA FUSA Visa card program.  Responsible for the USTA/ New England web site promotion, sales and sponsorship. Developed a campaign that doubled user visits within a 6 month time period.  Increased print and electronic advertising revenues by 20% in 1999.  Developed a 30-second commercial that ran on both network and cable television.  Responsible for the membership marketing and retention in New England.  Organized special events as needed to include reunions, award ceremonies and Hall of Fame.  Member of the organization committee for the 1999 Davis Cup Centennial Celebration that drew 5,000 spectators a day, network television and 150 members of the international press corp.  Managed relations with professional tennis including the Pilot Pen Tennis Championships, International Hall of Fame, US Pro Championships and the ATP World Doubles Championships.  Completed a 10 month sales training program  Licensed stockbroker / financial advisor with a Series 6, Series 7, Series 63, Series 65 certifications.  Specialized in 401(k), 403(b) and IRA plans for individuals and small business.  Developed and implemented marketing plans for both mail and telephone solicitations.  Familiarity with mutual funds, annuity contracts, life insurance, stocks, bonds, futures, options, and Level II and Level III trading techniques.  Taught classes / seminars on basic investing and retirement planning.  Managed $750,000 / 50 clients.

Fitchburg State College is a four-year state college located in central Massachusetts. FSC hosted an undergraduate population of 2,800 students who may have specialized in business, education, nursing or communications.

 Planned, directed and executed programs developed in concert with other members of the college community, such as reunions, graduations, regional clubs, student Alumni relations, career networking and seminar programming.  Initiated, coordinated and assisted in activities of a twenty-member board of directors.  Hired, trained and motivate support and professional staff members.  Responsible for the preparation, implementation and compliance of an $180,000 budget.  Design, publish and distributed publications concerning alumni, funding and awards.  Chaired Alumni Relations committees, such as scholarship, funding and awards.  Oversaw five regional / national chapters of volunteers and assist with various programs and service projects.

Fitchburg State College Admissions Counselor

 Sold Fitchburg State College at fairs throughout New England through fairs and high school visits.  Managed active relationships with 100 high school guidance counselors each year.  Developed and managed, a twenty person, twenty-week telemarketing program.  Organized and managed the college's Student Ambassador program.  Conducted and implemented fifteen admissions receptions and programs each year.  Developed public relations materials, direct mail, table and sales brochures.
