Mayo County Council Anthology of Poetry & Photography 2006 Mayo County Council Arts Office and Library Service are currently inviting submissions from poets and photographers who wish to be considered for inclusion in an anthology publication, a showcase for the best work in poetry and photography from the county. The publication will reflect high quality work of artistic integrity, by poets and photographers & artists born in, or living in, Mayo. Submission details: Poetry Individuals can submit up to 5 poems. 50 lines will be the maximum length considered; of necessity the majority of poems published will be no more than a page long. Mayo County Council reserves the right to edit and publish extracts from works. Poems to be submitted on one side of A4-sized paper, double-spaced typed in at least 12pt. font. All submissions should have the poet’s contact details printed clearly on the reverse side of every sheet. Photography Individuals can submit up to 5 photographic images. These should be photographic, digital or inkjet prints, to a maximum size of 10” x 8” or A4 (work may not be submitted on disc or other digital formats). Prints should not be mounted. All prints should have the artist’s contact details printed clearly on the reverse side. The selection will be based on the submitted prints, so it is in the best interests of the artists to ensure that the work is printed to the highest possible standard. (Digital camera users should be aware that the source file of the image should be of a size and format suitable for printed reproduction.) It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that all the necessary permissions are obtained from people featured in a photograph. By submitting work, the poet/photographer is giving Mayo County Council permission (for the purposes of the anthology publication) to publish the work. The poet/photographer retains all copyright for all other use of the work. Editors’ decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
