MYHA will be participating in the STOP program this year. The STOP program is a philosophy that is taught to the skaters that discourages checking from behind. A major part of the program is a reminder “stop sign” emblem that is worn on the back of our skaters’ jerseys. We will need a number of talented individuals to sew these patches on our hundreds of jerseys! If you enjoy sewing and wish to get a super head start on this year’s work hours (on your own schedule) or are just interested in assisting with this project, please call Lori Remeika at 387-4866.

From The Board Meeting:

For an organization the size of MYHA to function effectively, many jobs need to be completed throughout the year. You can do your part by volunteering to fill one of the vacancies that currently exist. The Association is looking for a Scheduler of Officials. This individual is responsible for scheduling available referees to work home games (except Tiger’s). A group of members is also needed to coordinate the Dog Show Fundraiser. This event is coming up soon so please respond quickly. If interested, please contact any Board member.

In the past, team try-outs have been held over several weeknights, but this year, we’ll be trying something new. Team try-outs will be held on Saturday, October 18. Hours have yet to be determined, but please mark this date on your calendar. As with any date(s) selected, scheduling conflicts are bound to arise and will have to be addressed as they occur.
