Mayor Blechinger called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Ron Griffith gave the invocation.

Staff Reports
Copies of staff reports are located at the end of this document. Chief Moulder reported that the Police Department will monitor the after effects of the Colonial Pipeline explosion and advise of any gas shortages. Chief also advised that there is a “Fire Weather Alert.” It is very dry because of no rain and there continues to be a burn ban. Chief recognized Sgt. Marc Pharr for continuing to do a great job with the Auburn Citizen’s Police Academy. For the 8th session Graduation of the Auburn Citizen’s Police Academy, Sgt. Pharr explained how he made a grand entrance to the graduation by entering via helicopter (simulation). Bel Outwater announced that the Auburn Public Library just partnered with Reverend Sound Youth Choir to come in once every two to three months to teach kids to play musical instruments. Bel also reported that she talked to State Representative, Terry England, after the Hometown Connection regarding needing an expansion for the library. Terry advised her to get put on the list. Bel then contacted the Regional Office who contacted the State Library and Auburn Public Library was put on the list. Dan Pruehs announced that AuburnFest is Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 2:00PM to 10:00PM with Handmade Crafts, Fun Competitions, Square Dancing, Family Fun, Kid Zone and Hometown Country Fair. Dan thanked Council Member Peggy Langley of Peggy’s Silk Flower Design for going above and beyond in helping with wreaths, flowers, etc. for decorating at Auburnfest. Alex Mitchem announced that Whistlestop Shops are now open.
