Hampshire County U17: Season 2006 - 2007

Dear Sir / Madam Hampshire County U17: Season 2006 - 2007

Further to the update on the Hampshire Rugby Football Union website, and that given at the Youth Forum in September, I am formally writing to ask you to nominate players for this season’s U17 County Rugby Campaign.

This year is somewhat of a development year for us AND sees some important changes with respect to age bandings as we move in line with Southern Hemisphere countries and International guidelines.

Only players born between January 1st 1990 and December 31st 1990 can be considered for the County U17 campaign. This includes players who were born September 1st 1990 - December 31st 1990, who are also eligible to play county U16s. U16 County games will take precedence for these players.

Players born September 1st 1989 - December 31st 1989 are NOT eligible for this year's County U17s. They move directly to the U18s, and will have been contacted by Tim Allen.

I must reiterate that only players able to play at this level are to be nominated. I would suggest a maximum of 4 players from each club, and this should not include players who were unsuccessful this season at U16 level!

Programme for Hampshire U17s 2006-2007

The Open Assessment afternoon, for which I am seeking nominations, will be held on Sunday November 19th at Havant RFC, 12:30 arrive, 17:00 finish.

We have 3 games scheduled: o 28th January 2007 v Surrey (away) A&B tbc o 4th March 2007 v Kent (home), venue and A&B tbc o 18th March 2007 v Middlesex (home), venue and A&B tbc. There will be squad training sessions on 7th January, 24th January, 28th February and 14th March. The session on 7th January may take the format of a trial game either amongst ourselves or v another county.
