FULL-TIME CERTIFICATED POSITION OPEN 2017-18 LEAVE REPLACEMENT 4th Grade Teacher Job Begins: 8/24/2017 Job Ends: 6/15/2018

The Conway School District is seeking an outstanding qualified candidate for the position of Leave Replacement 4th Grade Teacher for the 2017-18 school year. This is a non-continuing position.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Education Endorsement  Successful teaching experience at the elementary school level, preferred.  Strong background and experience in integrating technology into the curriculum  Strong background in literacy development,  Communication skills in Spanish, desired.  Commitment to the goals and philosophy of the Conway School District.  Evidence of commitment to all students learning.  Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards.  Working knowledge of performance assessment.  Strong background in communication skills – reading, writing, and speech.  Knowledge of Marzano teaching framework

ABILITY TO:  Adapt teaching and methodology, style, and materials to individual students’ needs.  Employ multiple instructional strategies.  Organize, maintain, and manage a clean and safe classroom facility.  Effectively teach to a widely diverse group of elementary students.  Ability to supervise the work of instructional assistant (para educator) if assigned.  Ability to work in a professional learning Community with staff and community.

APPLICANT DISCLOSURE STATEMENT: Pursuant to Chapter 486, Laws of 1987, all applicants must complete the disclosure form provided by the district at the time of application.

BACKGROUND CHECK ON RECOMMENDED CANDIDATE: The district will also make a reference check inquiry on recommended candidates. According to 1992 legislation, ESHB 2581, all school employees with regularly scheduled unsupervised access to children are required to have a criminal background check, which includes fingerprints. Fingerprinting costs are the responsibility of the individual.

IMMIGRATION REFORM AND CONTROL ACT REQUIREMENT: All new employees are required by law to submit documentation to the district proving eligibility to work in the USA by completing employment eligibility from within three (3) days of employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All district employees are required to attend an HIV/HBV presentation or supply evidence of a similar course to the district. In addition, all employees are required to attend a Sexual Harassment and safe touching presentation.
