Static Sticker Installation Options Guide

Revised 6-3-2010 Static Sticker Installation Options

A. Locate the printer in the office (near the main POS computer)

Cables needed include:

1. Serial Cable with nine pin adapters on either end, one male, one female

Installation Instructions

1. Connect the female end to the open Com port in the back of the main POS computer 2. Connect the male end of the serial cable to the printer. Follow the remainder of the set up instructions

To Printer To Back of Computer

B. Locate printer in same room as the Main POS Computer, but farther away from computer than serial cable allows

1. Serial Cable with nine pin adapters on either end, one male, one female 2. One beige and one black serial to telco adapters 3. Phone cable that came with printer (Must use this one)

1. Connect the female end to the open Com port in the back of the main POS computer 2. Connect the serial to telco adapter with the female end to the other end of the serial cable. 3. Connect the phone cable to the serial to telco adapter. 4. Connect the serial to telco adapter with the male end to the phone cable and to the back of the printer 5. Follow the remainder of the set up instructions

To Back of Computer

C. Locate Printer in the bay, extra CAT 5 cable located in bay already connected to junction box in office near the main POS computer

1. Serial Cable with nine pin adapters on either end, one male, one female 2. One beige and one black serial to telco adapters 3. Cat 5 jack 4. Cat 5 junction box and faceplate 5. One red Cat5 jumper cable 6. One blue Cat 5 Jumper Cable (Blue is for the Bay and is a crossover cable)

1. Connect the female end to the open Com port in the back of the main POS computer 2. Connect the serial to telco adapter with the female end to the other end of the serial cable. 3. Connect the red CAT 5 jumper cable (smaller end) to the end of the adapter in 2 and the larger end to the junction box in the office. 4. Move the CAT 5 cable in the bay close to where you want it. 5. Connect a Cat 5 Jack to the end of cable and mount in the Cat 5 junction box. 6. Connect the blue Cat 5 jumper cable (larger end) to the Cat 5 Jack. 7. Connect the serial to telco adapter with the male end to the smaller end of the blue CAT 5 jumper cable and to the back of the computer 8. Follow the remainder of the set up instructions To Back of Computer
