2014-15 Code of Conduct and Agreement “Safety Is Built Into The Schedule”! STUDENTS MUST BE READY 10 MINUTES BEFORE TIME OF DEPARTURE.
After students are seated they are to remain seated while vehicle is in motion.
1. All seatbelts and shoulder harnesses must be fastened before vehicle is in motion. Click It! 2. No eating is allowed on board vehicles. For example candy, chewing gum, crackers, cookies, chips of any sort. Students are not allowed to eat their breakfast or lunch on our vans/buses. Bottled water is permitted, provided student takes container with them when they exit. Students are responsible for their personal items and trash to include used tissues, napkins and paper towels. 3. Students are to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner at all times. Public displays of affection will not be tolerated. 4. Clothing must be fitted properly, pulled above the hips. Athletes are asked to enter van with outer garments over their gym clothes and practice shorts with shoes or sneakers on their feet. 5. Students are asked to bring a book to read to and from school. No electronic devices are allowed on vans/ buses except with headphone. Cell phones are to be used only in emergencies. Please set ringers low as not to distract driver and disturb others. Any abuse of cell phones will not be tolerated and confiscated for parent to reclaim them. Gaming and texting is prohibited on cell phones to avoid conflicts and driver distractions. Students are to keep their hands and feet to themselves at all times NO TOUCHING. 6. Fighting, acts of aggression, name calling and profanity screaming and yelling will not be tolerated. Suspensions will be issued if deemed necessary after thorough investigation. The driver has the right to recommend any suspensions of student(s) if he or she feels that the safety of all occupants is being compromised. First Offense: verbal warning designated seat assignment. Second Offense: Written warning to parents and designated seat for student. Third Offense: one day suspension. Fourth Offense: one week suspension. Gross misconduct may result in immediate cancelations of students riding privileges. In the event of such action, parent is still required to satisfy the financial agreement. 7. Any damage to vehicles will be investigated and reported to parent or guardian immediately. Parent or guardian will be held responsible for any damages to the vehicle by student(s) to include repair cost, cleaning cost, and days van is out service due to damage of vehicle. 8. In cases of emergencies and delays, parents will be notified promptly. 9. Tom’s Coach N Travel reserves the right to adjust the pickup and drop off location and schedule times to include: inclement weather, emergencies, ridership increase or decrease, route merger and changes in TOM’S COACH-N-TRAVEL

Tom’s Coach N Travel will be governed by the Anne Arundel Schools, Prince Georges County Schools and Students Primary school CMIT’s Inclement Weather Policy. We will make every attempt to work with parents and guardians on school schedule changes and to provide safe dedicated service to our clients. Parents will be responsible for having the student ready 10 minutes before schedule pick up time to avoid delays and inconveniences. Tardiness will not be tolerated. Vans/buses will depart at the designated schedule time. We ask parents to be at drop locations at least 10 minutes before departure, not at departing time. At that point it’s a late departure for us all. 10. Parents are responsible for monthly payments for the entire length of contract (the school year ending 6/2015. In the event that students no longer use this service during the contractual term of the school year, the parent will be billed for the remaining term on the contract. Payments are due bi-weekly .Parents will be issued payment schedule for bi-weekly payments. A payment schedule will be provided with the date of payment due. Late charges are due with payment immediately after client has been informed by phone call or email. Payments not received one week after due date, a nonpayment notice will be sent to the parent or guardian. All payments are to be made payable to Tom’s Coach-N-Travel. A receipt will be sent to you electronically when funds are deposited and credited. A check return fee will be assessed in the amount of $50.00. A cash payment will be required for the full amount due including all late fees. We accept visa credit and check cards and automatic withdrawal /direct deposit. 11. Parents will provide a school calendar indicating all holidays and half days. 12. Parents will give 8 hour notification if child is not attending school and a 3 hour notice required if child was dismissed early and is riding not shuttle that day. The van will leave on designated time from the school if there is a no show by student and no communication from parent or guardian. It is the parents’ responsibility to notify Tom’s Coach-N-Travel not the student. If you text a message please follow up with a phone call and a voice mail to confirm any changes in the daily activities of our students. We prefer the phone call 301.390.0487or text: 754.222.4081, 13. Pickup NO Show: a thirty $30 No Show Fee will be assessed to families that do not pick up their student at designated central stops. For the safety of all Students, Student who were not picked up will discharged at the end of the route to avoid further delays. We expect full cooperation in event there is a No Show. 14. Parents are required to inform Tom’s Coach-N- travel of any special needs for your child. Example allergies, bladder issues or any disabilities so we can accommodate your child needs. We are requesting that if a student is ill or infectious due cold or flu , please keep them home away from others to avoid the spread of cold or flu. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH MARYLAND FAMILY LAW (SEC. 5-801). TOM’S COACH N TRAVEL WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY STUDENT BEING LEFT UNATTENDED.
