Monday
Objectives: RCS3D, E, 3.03, 3.14, 3.16, A, B, C, F, 3.11, 3.31, 3.29A, B Language Objectives: TSW read, write and discuss elements of fairytales. Content Objectives: TSW read and identify different elements of fairytales. Materials: Fairytale flipchart, Traditional Literature Booklet & All STAARS Spring Training Booklet Resources: Balanced Literacy Time: 8:00-9:30, 9:30-11:00, 11:00-11:25/1:15-2:25 Assessment: Booklet
Connect: TTW ask students to share what they know about fairytales.
Teach:
TTW explain the elements that make a fairytale by showing and discussing the flipchart. TTW read aloud Cinderella.
Guided Practice:
TSW work together to fill in fairytale chart.
Link:
TTW tell TS that they will be applying what we did today with their choice of 2 fairytales by Friday.
Independent Practice:
Groups:
1. Teacher- Guided Reading/Word Study
2. Computer- Success Maker/Raz Kids/Into the Book
3. Independent Work- Fill out fairytale chart and differentiated All STAARS Spring Training Booklet

TTW introduce character change and discuss together what that looks like in a fairytale.

TTW beginning reading Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters.
TT & TSW discuss character change in Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters.
