Bienvenidos! Welcome to Spanish 1. I am looking very forward to be teaching your student this year. Taking this class will help them complete their Foreign Language credit but will also be a fun class!

This year, we will be creating many things in and out of the classroom. Spanish has an amazing culture behind it and most of the projects we do are based on special holidays.

School. I teach at both at the Junior High and High School so it is very important to contact me if you have any questions. I can stay after school or come earlier if you have any questions. PLEASE let me know so I can help you out.

Course Description: Spanish 1 is the study of the Spanish language using the 4 mediums; Listening, Spanish 1 Syllabus Ms. Taylor * Rooms 205 (High School) & T4 (Junior High)* [email protected] Speaking, Reading and Writing.

Rules: 1. Be Prompt. Get to class on time. If you are late, you need to go to the office for a tardy pass. 2. Be Prepared. Have supplies and folders ready. 3. Be Respectful. To both the teacher AND peers. 4. Put all electronics away. Cell phones are NOT permitted in class.

Class Procedures: 1. Students should grab their folder and have their notebook out. Warm-Ups are daily and should be completed immediately entering the classroom 2. Cell phones should be put away. 3. Class begins when the bell rings. If you are tardy, please go to the front office. 4. Students are dismissed by the teacher, sitting in desks. DO NOT crowd the door, this is a fire hazard and against school policy. 5. Raise your hand, don’t shout out answers.

Discipline Procedures: 1. Students are to be respectful of everyone, including the teacher. 2. Any activity that is disruptive will not be tolerated and will be disciplined. 3. Not following the guidelines set in class will be subject to discipline as noted in the Student Handbook Supplies: 1. Folder Each student will be given a folder that they will responsible for. You can leave it in class in the designed basket for each class. You need to keep any notes, worksheets and your Participation Sheet in that folder. 2. Spiral notebook Each student will also need to bring a spiral notebook to take notes. This notebook will NOT be provided. 3. Pens 4. Pencils

Absences: Each student will be responsible for when they are absent. I have an absent board in my classroom. I will have copies of PowerPoints, worksheets and announcements in each day of the week. Every Friday, the folders are cleaned out. You have 1 day to make up the work before it is a 0.

Missing/Late Work: Late work is NOT accepted, unless of medical emergency. If you have any missing work and are failing at the end of the six weeks, you may ask for extra credit or to redo work but only if I have time.

I will be at the Junior High by 7:15am and leave after 2nd period. I arrive at the high school for 3rd period and stay until 3:30pm.

30% Daily/Quiz Grades > Quizzes > Daily Activities > Participation Sheet > Pop Quizzes over Warm-Ups
