L. MANN HIGH SCHOOL. 15 16 Whereas, from February 11, 2005, to February 22, 2005, the 17 students, teachers, and school administrators from J. L. Mann High 18 School will be hosting an exchange of seventeen students and two 19 adult leaders from J. L. Mann High School’s sister school, The 20 Lycée Godefroy de Bouillon of Clermont-Ferrand, France; and 21 22 Whereas, during this period of time these French exchange 23 students and their accompanying faculty will be traveling all over 24 South Carolina and visiting many of its historic sites and 25 attractions; and 26 27 Whereas, this program provides many positive learning 28 experiences and presents opportunities for the participants from 29 both countries to enjoy cultural exchanges which otherwise might 30 not be available to them; and 31 32 Whereas, this program is a valued resource in teaching respect and 33 tolerance for cultures which differ from ours and helps bond 34 friendships which could not happen without this exchange; and 35 36 Whereas, this program will allow our neighbors from France to 37 enjoy the many fine attractions our State has to offer, and allow 38 them to experience the kindness and hospitality for which the 39 citizens of South Carolina are known worldwide; and 40

Mann High School Foreign Student Exchange 2 Program is an outstanding model for other schools with similar 3 programs in our State to emulate; and 4 5 Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish to thank the 6 participants who make this exchange possible and hope for the 7 continued success of this program for many years to come. Now, 8 therefore, 9 10 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 11 concurring: 12 13 That the members of the General Assembly extend a warm 14 welcome and our best wishes for a successful visit to our friends 15 from The Lycée Godefroy de Bouillon School, Clermont-Ferrand, 16 France, participating in the student exchange program with J.
