Welcome to Goodwill University!

Goodwill University provides training opportunities to support the learning and development of all Goodwill Columbus employees. The mission of Learning & Development is to unleash the full potential of Goodwill employees by supporting organizational learning, strengthening the core competencies of our associates, supervisors and managers, as well as developing top talent utilizing internal and external methods. The training offerings generally focus on management, teamwork, problem-solving, and improving the well being of our employees. Here is an outline of our A.S.P.I.R.E. For all employees: • Goodwill Columbus New Hire Orientation (new employees during the first two weeks of employment)

For supervisors (any employee who is responsible for the supervision of another employee): • New Supervisor Orientation (Series of three classes- One class per month required for all new supervisors during their first three months) 1. 2. Determine which courses can help you be even more effective in your current position, or develop new skills for career growth

3. Discuss with your immediate supervisor the courses you’d like to attend, to gain his/her approval

Course Description: This course will focus on the story-telling process at Goodwill Columbus as well as provide an understanding of the function of each department to support the Goodwill mission. This will provide employees with a framework for what makes a great story and how to take an active role in spreading the Goodwill message.

It will discuss best routes of referral and eligibility requirements of the most used resources. In addition, this course will assist with holistic supervision by providing Supervisors with knowledge to direct employees to resources that will empower them to work at their full potential.
