YVONNE GNARLY everything to keep Carmen from upsetting the status quo. She’s her aunt’s biggest ally in setting Carmen up and getting her expelled, but things usually end up with egg on Yvonne’s pinched face. Yvonne is Greg Marmalarde to Gnarly’s Dean Wormer. (I guess that makes Carmen the Delta House.) Put in cartoon terms, if Carmen is free-wheeling, devilish Bugs Bunny, Yvonne is definitely a caustic and selfish Daffy Duck.
