Get Lucky. The song “Get Lucky” is essentially a disco song, written with the thought of “getting lucky”, meeting someone that you like, connecting with them, and having chemistry. The song came together when after several years of wanting to work with Daft Punk, songwriter Nile Rodgers was finally able to connect with the group. Pharrell Williams had also been waiting for the opportunity to work with Daft Punk. The three met up in Paris, went over the plans for the song and decided to work on it from there, so everything just had the perfect timing. Nile told Rolling Stone that: “The collaboration felt so unbelievably natural.” Pharrell told the publication that he “first sang his verse for ‘Get Lucky,’” and Daft Punk told him to “sing it again, again, again. Then I did four or five more takes, they picked what they liked, then I sang each of those parts over and over.
