“Spartan Stadium is the closest thing American soccer has to Lambeau Field. Every great soccer player of the past 40 years, including Pele, George Best, Maradona, Mia Hamm and Eric Wynalda, has run up and down the turf on Seventh Street.” -- Mark Purdy, Mercury News

Spartan Stadium, which seats 30,456, is the home for San Jose State women’s soccer, men’s soccer and football. The multi-purpose facility is the site of the school’s annual commencement ceremony. Concerts, professional and collegiate soccer, band competitions and high school football games also take place at Spartan Stadium. The stadium was the site of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 1999 and the NCAA Women’s College Cup in 1999 and 2000 (at top), attracting record-setting crowds.
