Youthful Bruins Reach Regional Tournan1ent

Led by its sophomores, George Fox kept ali,·e a string of nine consectnive first- or second-place finishes in its district or conference. For the first time in four years, the Bruins \\·eren ' t ranked in the national top ~0, but they advanced to their second-highest postseason ever. After finishing second in the Northwest Conference of Indepen­ dent Colleges, the Bruins h ad No.9- ranked Simon Fraser University on the ropes in the NAIA Pacific North­ west Regional Tournament. George Fox led twice, but suffered a heart­ breaking +:~ sudden-death overtime loss. Four sophomores won regional honors. Midfielder Wade Fleming earned NAir\ All-American Honor­ able Mention after leading the Bruins with n goals and six assists.
