CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF SERVING THE GREENSBORO COMMUNITY

We are heading towards the last quarter in our 60th year celebration and are happy to report new and renewal memberships are up. However, we haven’t yet reached our goal of 60 new memberships for the year. While many of you participate in our different programs on a regular basis, we would be grateful if you would consider Advancement Director membership in The Arc of Greensboro. As our programs grow and we introduce new events more volunteers will be needed to assist in making each program and event a success. We look to our members for help to spread the word about our great services and invite others to attend our events. This will make The Arc of Greensboro known not only to families with special needs children, but to all residents in the greater Greensboro community.

The Arc of Greensboro awarded three-year CARF accreditation

July 26, 2013 —CARF International announced The Arc of Greensboro, Inc. has been re-accredited for a period of three years for their Community Services Coordination, Community Employment Services; Personal Supports Services, Job Development, Employment Supports.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substan- tial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and ac- countable.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a con- sultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
