Notable PMU Students (Male & Female) Local & International Notable PMU Students (Male & Female) Local & International Competition/Activity Participation and Achievements Competition/Activity Semester Brief overview of the competition/activity/achievement Student/s Information Photos Title The Saudi University Sports Federation just recently concluded the swimming event. The event was held in Dammam at Sport City last November 16, 2017 and ended on November 18, 2017. Saudi University Sports Student: Fall 2017/2018 Federation Swimming Around 146 swimmers of various universities took part of the competition. Our very own Competition Mr. Abdulaziz Aldossary bagged 4th place in 400 meter freestyle and 5th place in 200 Abdulaziz Aldossary meter backstroke. ASME - PMU Chapter participated in the Water Arabia exhibition and conference at Le Meridian Hotel, Alkhobar, (Oct 17-19, 2017), were ASME students competed in the presentations competition with two presentations: i) “Design of Solar Powered Water Distillation Device”, prepared by Masoud Alghamdi Abdulwahab Aladdani, Mujahed Alansari, Monther Hassan, Khalil Alsubae Water Arabia Conference Abdulrhman Alarfaj, Yazed Almoqbas, Faris Mahamid Fall 2017/2018 Fahad Aldossary and Exhibition 2017 ii) “Solar Water Purification System”, prepared by Masoud Alghamdi, Manna Alharbi Khalil Alsubae, Fahad Aldossary, Manna Alharbi, Anes Anes Alabdulqader Alabdulqader, Khlaid Alhamimi Those papers presentation were under supervision of Professor Ali Chamkha and Dr. Nader Nader; The solar Water Purification system got the second place! Aiming to advance stability and prosperity in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) program supports governments and their citizens to achieve shared political, economic and stability objectives. The Student Leaders program offers outstanding undergraduates from across the MENA region an intensive leadership training course of approximately 6 weeks in the United States. The program emphasizes lessons in participatory governance and the application of leadership skills. Students: The Student Leaders program is a rigorous exchange program for up to 120 undergraduate students from the Middle East and North Africa. Participants have the opportunity to meet their American peers, engage in local community service activities, and observe and take part in the governmental process on the local, state, and federal levels. The program includes Dana Al Moqbel, academic coursework, as well as study tours to various regions of the United States. Upon completion of the U.S.-based program, participants are mentored by the program implementer to leverage their experiences through sponsored alumni activities designed to effect positive social change in their home countries approximately 6 months after the U.S. portion of the program. A follow-on training seminar is generally held in the region upon completion of the U.S.-based program. June 27 – August 1, 2018, USA The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games was a multinational, multi-sport event that was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 22 May 2017. Previously the event has been held in Saudi Arabia in 2005 and Indonesia in 2013. The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) is responsible for the direction and control of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The 4th Islamic Solidarity Spring 2016/2017 Dana Salah Alshehri, 201500409 Games (Baku 2017) The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games will feature athletes from every one of the ISSF's 57 member nations. Athletes will compete in 20 sports, across 270 medal events, over 10 days of sporting competition. Ms. Dana Salah Alshehri has participated in the Women’s 100m sprint. May 16, 2017 – Baku, Azerbaijan The word congress is originated from the Latin word congressus, which is an off-spring of the word congredi; con- meaning together and -gredi meaning walk, giving us “walk together” or “meet”. And On the 7th and 8th of May, 2017, IEEE’s youth of the GCC got to “walk together” in to the huge halls of Gulf Convention Center, Bahrain, where the first of its kind in the region, IEEE GCC SYP Congress, was held in conjunction with the 9th IEEE-GCC Conference & Exhibition. It all started when a group of bright individuals being the UOB and KFUPM IEEE student branches, and both the Young Professionals of IEEE Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Sections, Students: decided to join powers and be a part of organizing an event that will gather youth of the area together. Their hard work paid off eventually, when it was time for the event 1. Shyma Alhuwider The First IEEE GCC SYP Spring 2016/2017 to come through. 2. Zainab Alabdrabalnabi Congress 2017 3. Basha Alfoghom The 2-day event was targeted at the students and young professionals of the region 4. Reema albugmi but was gladly unbounded by that target. The congress was a welcoming host of more than 300 students and professionals that are focused outside the GCC as well, which added variety to what the congress was offering. It was admirable as well as delightful to see young minds come together to share ideas, success stories, future plans and a lot more with such passion and enthusiasm. Four CCES students with one faculty advisor has attended in the First IEEE GCC SYP Congress on May 07 – 08, 2017 in Manama, Bahrain The 2017-2018 season marks the 59th year of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Jessup is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from over 645 law schools in 95 countries. The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations. One team is allowed to participate from every Students: eligible school. Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and Philip C. Jessup respondent positions of the case. April 8 – 15, 2017, Washing DC, USA First Placer in Long Jump Competition (6.67m) Silver Medal Triple Jump (14.15m) Qualified for 2017 Universiades (World University Championship) in Taipei August 2017 Prince Mohammad University student, Hussain Abdullah Al-Khalaf, won the gold medal in the long jump competition at the Third Athletics Championship event organized by Saudi University Sports the Saudi Sports Federation of Universities which was held at Prince Abdulrahman Al- Federation (SUSF) Long Spring 2016/2017 Faisal University in Dammam. Hussain Al-Khalaf, 201402106 Jump Competition March 21, 2017 Al-Khalaf won the first place and the gold medal in the competition of 20 athletes form 18 Saudi Universities participating in this competition by long jumping 6.67 meters while qualifying for the triple jump competition. It is worth noting that Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd University pays special attention to its students who participate in the sports competitions organized by the Sports Federation of Saudi Universities. The University provides sports equipment as well as financial and logistics support for its students athletes After four days of qualifications full of challenges, PMU Student Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani won the first place in the Saudi Skills Competition (area of Web Design) held in Jeddah, KSA in Feb. 2017 At the end of the competition, he was awarded by the Saudi Minister of Education his Excellency Dr. Ahmad Al Essa and won a prize of 50,000 SAR! Saudi Skills Competition Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani, Spring 2016/2017 201500539 المسابقة الوطنية للمواهب Furthermore, student Abdulrahman represented Saudi Arabia in the World Finals Competition which was held in Abu Dhabi in October 2017. The IEEExtreme Programing Competition is a worldwide programming competition that lasts for 24 hours. Hamad Abdulhamid Albassam won the first place in the experts category for his Smart Traffic System Project. Students: In February 2015, ASME PMU Branch won second place in ASME 1. Nawaf Adil Al Khan, Regional Student Design Competition at Beirut, Lebanon. The team 201100036 was qualified to participate in the final competition held at Houston, 2. Yahya Mohammad Al Robots for Relief Hammam, 200800929 At Houston, PMU students won the sixth place among top sixteen 5. Hussni Haidar Osman, universities from the Middle East, North and South America, Europe, 201000343 Pakistan and India. Moreover, they got the best score among three 6. Mohammed Abbas Al Hajji, other Arab Universities qualified for the finals (Rafic Hariri Lebanese 200901042 University and British University in Egypt).

Islamic Solidarity Games was a multinational,“ multisport event which was held in Baku Azerbaijan from 12 to 22 May 2017. All 56 members of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation participated at the Games. 17 competition venues were used during the Games. Baku National Stadium was the main used place with its 69.870 seats. During the games 12500 needed volunteers were registries. Motorola Solutions was the supporter of the solutions of radio communication. Islamic Solidarity Games Telecom Invest provided the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games with Motorola Solutions products and services.
