The set of stamps also includes Royal Mail’s first ‘motion stamps’ on a miniature sheet which using microlenticular printing reveals the Thunderbirds take off when tilted back and forth. Gerry Anderson said: “I feel incredibly proud that my work has been chosen to appear on a set of commemorative stamps and to see actual animation of the opening scenes of Thunderbirds on motion stamps, for me, is wonderful.” The stamps, split between 1st Class and 97p values, feature six of his most popular shows: Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Joe 90, highlighting the ingenious characters and incredible vehicles created by Anderson. For many of course, it’s his most celebrated creation, Thunderbirds, that we remember, especially its dramatic 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! opening sequence. Now people can relive that moment through a four-stamp miniature sheet. The countdown begins with Thunderbird 5 - the Earth-orbiting space station keeping a watchful eye from within the miniature sheet’s border, whilst a moving image of lift off is revealed for Thunderbirds 1, 2, 3 and 4.

    Bajoran Language All Bajoran written languages are based on a series of ideograms; even copies of the Bajoran texts found at ancient archaeological sites share certain root ideograms. Bajoran ideogrammatic symbols are vaguely square shaped, and feature a series of complex, interconnecting swirls. In times past, the symbols were rectangular; modern Bajoran script breaks down words into their components more frequently, thus two modern symbols often correlate to a single ancient word. Bajoran spoken language also consists of many small words for simple concepts, which can combine to produce words representing more complex ideas. There are 25 basic Bajoran language symbols, which form the foundation of all ideograms. Each symbol can be used in any of eight rotations (flipped and rotated each and every way). Bajoran tends to be written in horizontal lines, although it can be written vertically. In the Bajoran alphabet, the analogue of “C” is the fourth letter, the analogue of “E” the seventh. List of Words and Language Components Edit A: Prefix signifying definite article “the”, as in a prime or model example. Aclim: An era of history. Alva: A yellow fruit. The syllabic component “va” translates to “source”, and is found in the names of other foods like Veklava and Kava. Amojan: “The Evil One” (From “A”- “the”, “Mo”- “one”, and “Jan”- “Evil”). Amoran: “The Banishment"”(From “A”- “the”, and “Moran”- “Banishment", itself derived from the syllabic roots for “one” and “aftermath”- essentially, to have become "one", cut off from others). Ara/Arra: “Place”, usually in a spiritual or figurative sense rather than denoting literal location, although as the Bajoran proverb teaches, “the land and the people are one”.

This story is set just after the events in the episode TimeLash . For those familiar with the UFO novelization Primary Target it takes place between chapters 11 and 12. It was the middle of the afternoon when Miss Scott put the call through to Lieutenant General James Henderson, USAF, retired, chairman of the International Astrophysical Commission. "General Henderson?" The voice on the other end said. "This is Doctor Frazer, Mister Straker's physician. Would you mind coming over to Mayland Hospital as soon as possible? We need authorization for his treatment." "What kind of treatment?" Henderson asked, heart sinking. Ed Straker hadn't seemed in that bad of condition when Henderson left SHADO headquarters a few hours earlier. Straker had been weak from exhaustion, confused, even frightened. But, he had recognized Henderson and Paul Foster standing there in the medical center room, Henderson was sure of that. And Doctor Jackson had given them every reason to believe Straker would be fine, despite what the aliens had done, twisting time out of shape. "What happened?"
