OPEN IN MOBILE Continue for another 20min to reach your destination for the night, Darlington Point. This gorgeous town on the banks of the Murrumbidgee boasts some of the most beautiful camping and RV sites in the Riverina; arrive early to nab a position on the banks of the river.

After setting up camp, take a stroll along the 1.8km Goanna Walking Track, keeping a sharp Scenic views of the in Darlington Point eye out for the mythical bunyip that dwells on the river banks.

5 Day 2: Griffith

OPEN IN MOBILE Go light on this morning’s breakfast because today you’ll be feasting like a king in the Riverina foodie hub of Grith. Designed in 1914 by Walter Burley Grith to service the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Scheme, the town was settled by Italian immigrants, resulting in a vibrant food and wine scene.

7 Day 3 & 4: Cobar

OPEN IN MOBILE You are now entering the real Outback of NSW – so be on the lookout for wildlife as you tackle the 2.5hr drive through vast, open plains to Cobar. A mining town for more than a century, Cobar’s prosperity is still dependent on its thriving mines producing gold, copper, lead, silver and zinc. You'll have two days to uncover this rich history.

Just before you enter Cobar, you’ll reach the Peak Cobar Miners Heritage Park commemorates the town's past Gold Mines, where a viewing platform gives a birds-eye view of the massive mining operations.Closer to town, you can also observe the operations at the Fort Bourke Open Cut Mine, with the Lookout providing incredible views of the open pit and views across town.

Continuing on into Cobar itself, you'll drive past the Great Cobar Heritage Centre. This impressive red brick building dates back to the 1910s and was once the administration building for the former Great Cobar Copper Mine.
