Memo To: Employee Services Division (ESD) Agents From: Ron Polston Re: Globe Life Park in Arlington ESD’s parent company, Globe Life And Accident Insurance Company, recently announced it has purchased the naming rights to the Texas Rangers ballpark, formerly known as The Ballpark in Arlington. The new ballpark name is Globe Life Park in Arlington, and the naming agreement is for 10 years. The naming change became effective on Feb. 5, 2014. We are thrilled for this exciting opportunity that opens up many new doors for our parent company, as well as all Torchmark Affiliate companies. Among the many positive advantages is our ability to test national advertising that increases the exposure of our brand and the ability to be the title sponsor of the Rangers Foundation Grant Program, which provides disadvantaged kids with support and resources for baseball and softball programs throughout the Rangers’ five-state territory. How does this impact ESD Agents? As part of the Torchmark Corporation family, Globe Life will benefit from increased brand exposure. The opportunity to name one of the premier Major League Ballparks in the United States is highly compelling from a brand recognition perspective given: We have Sales Agents in the Rangers’ five-state marketing area (AR, LA, OK, TX, and select counties in southeastern NM) for Torchmark affiliates: Globe Life, American Income Life, Liberty National Life, United American, and Family Heritage Life Telecasts of games and events at the stadium will reach the national level, bringing unlimited nationwide upside potential for Globe Life and all of Torchmark Affiliates’ products Advertising on Globe Life collateral in the surrounding five-state area Advertising and announcements at Texas Rangers games at Globe Life Park ESD-appointed Agents may say that their parent company is the Official Life Insurance Company of the Texas Rangers Appointed ESD Agents will also have the opportunity to attend games in the Globe Life Park suite via special production contests. More information on the contests will be forthcoming. How much did we pay for the rights and what will it cost Agents/Customers? Financial terms of the agreement will not be disclosed. From an operating perspective, this announcement will have no impact on Torchmark’s strategic plans, projections, or operations. Similarly, while this is an exciting announcement for Globe Life and Torchmark Affiliate employees and Agents, it remains business as usual. This news will not result in any impact to our premiums for current or prospective customers, and it will not result in any additional costs for our Agents to sell our products. Our hope is that, through better brand recognition, we will create new opportunities for Globe Life as well as all of our affiliates.
