It looks like Day 3 does not have a vegetarian option. I emailed the WVMA requesting one be available.
WE NEED TO HAVE A HEAD COUNT IN BY OCTOBER 1 TO PURCHASE OUR MEAL TICKETS FOR MEMBERS ATTENDING. I passed this along to the marketing committee so that they can make sure the deadline to register for convention gives us time for Gail to contact me with final count so I can get in meal tickets numbers to the WVMA.
Please pass on to all members that exhibit hall is open on Thursday night as well as on Friday and Saturday. This would be a great time for them to get some one on one . In the past, reps have stated that they do not see managers in the exhibit hall…. I personally don’t believe this but it came from the surveys so at least one person feels this way!

WVPMA
President’s Message Dear Colleagues, The end of another year is coming soon and with that, the end of my term as president of the WVPMA. It’s been an honor to serve an organization that encourages veterinary practice managers to enhance their knowledge and supports them in their mission to be the best leader they can be. This year our convention theme is “A Treasure Awaits You.” I feel this theme has multiple meanings since many wonderful things are in store for convention attendees: outstanding convention speakers, our supportive vendors and, of course, the friendships we enjoy re-kindling during convention. The theme can also refer to our ongoing collaboration with organizations that support the WVPMA through education, by offering legal advice and by keeping us informed on new state level referendums that impact our profession. We are quite blessed to have strong relationships with our vendors, the WVMA and the WVTA. During convention I encourage our WVPMA members to express appreciation to these groups for their continued support. We have had many goals this year and I am proud to say that we have achieved many and have made great strides towards others. One of our primary goals was to establish criteria and begin accepting applications for the “Josette Svitter Educational Fund.” We have achieved this goal. The fund will provide financial assistance to managers for continuing education or to help supplement the expense associated with becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. Each year before convention we notify veterinary clinics around Wisconsin of our “Practice Manager of the Year” award. We know how committed our members are to keeping their veterinary practices running smoothly and lucratively. We encourage practice owners to submit applications and nominate their manager so that they can be acknowledged and honored by their peers in the WVPMA during the state convention. For those practices that would like to nominate their manager for this award, it’s not too early to start the process for next year. Information regarding this award and the nomination instructions can be found on our website at www.wvpma.com. I hope everyone has a great time at convention. I look forward to continuing my service as past president and to many more years of continued learning and growth along side my colleagues in the WVPMA. Sincerely, Jenny Perket WVPMA President

1-2:30pm Keynote Address – Deal With It! How to Stay Calm Under Pressure Mike Staver (1.8 CE non-scientific) Hall B
It’s not about stress management. That won’t work! It’s not about changing your circumstances. That will only change the scenery. Today, more than ever, you are being asked to do more and more. What it gets down to is how you choose to invest energy. It’s not the hours you work, it’s the value you get from the work you do. Do not, under any circumstances, let someone convince you that it is an easy process - but it is simple. In this session, participants will learn what it takes to stay calm and focused even if they don’t like the circumstances.
You will learn: • What drives your choices • Why distress has the effect it has • Why the things that happen to you, while challenging at times, are not the problem • The steps to staying calm and productive • The thought processes that cause some to thrive and others to collapse

I will contact the marketing committee to make sure signs are made for convention.
