Overall-Table-February-1.Pdf Weekly update Up to and including SATURDAY 24TH JANUARY 2015 Today’s update covers the seven day period between Sunday 18th January 2015 through to Saturday 24th January 2015. The January 2015 Manager of the Month has only 7 days to run as I write this. Leading the way is The Bash with 1,719pts, they have only a 7pt lead over second placed Roys Wanderers and they are 32pts ahead of third placed Ruperts All Stars. The top ten this month is covered by 77pts. As always the league leader’s bonuses will play a major part in deciding who will grab the cash. At the bottom this month were £50 is up for grabs there is 45 points covering the bottom three. Sitting at the bottom is Joshusa Jewels with 491pts they are 24 points adrift of Bruces Anchors and 45pts adrift of third from bottom Compo & Nora. Before I finish on this subject thanks to one of our FNL competitors I have discovered a slight mistake in the January 2015 Manager of the Month calculations. The subs that you have all brought in were not registering in the Manger of the month side of things. That has now been rectified and now everything is correct. Over the last couple of FNL seasons I have run a substitution comparison for you. Where once a month I let you know where you would have been if you hadn’t made those changes. Would you have been better off or did you make the right decision bringing in those changes. If you would like your team to be part of this please get in contact with the FNL Helpdesk. • Overall Table March 1
Weekly update Up to and including SATURDAY 21ST FEBRUARY 2015 Today’s update covers the seven day period between Sunday 15th February 2015 through to Saturday 21st February 2015. You are reading today’s update on the first day of March. That means of course the February Manager of the Month has fin- ished. In this update we still have seven days to run so let’s have a look at who is in the running to take the February 2015 cash. Leading the way after 21 days of the month is JesusOfSuburbia who have 1,269pts and they are currently 33pts ahead of second placed Stripes United and 43pts ahead of third placed Azura. The top ten is covered by only 70pts and as always it will come down to who has the most league leaders come the end of the month. At the bottom where of course £50 is up for grabs each month we have Helens BootX with 326pts they are 38pts adrift from their nearest rival Silly Sods. The bottom ten is covered by 67pts so once again it is going to be a close finish. Finally a quick note about a point’s adjustment within the main body of the FNL competition. Back in December 2014 Maidstone Utd lost a Robert Dyas League Cup game against Tonbridge Angels 4-0. Tonbridge Angels were then removed from the competition for playing an ineligible player. As the game was a third round tie Tonbridge were awarded 25pts for reaching the quarter final of the competition. I have removed those 25pts from Tonbridge and given them to Maidstone Utd.

  • BFGC History
The Curious History of Three Blackpool and Fylde Gliding Clubs. 1930 1950 1969 We got our nickname when we made training circuits, but were able to do very little soaring. Then we bought a farm in Fiddlers Lane. @BFGC 2019 The Full History of the Blackpool and Fylde Gliding Club since 1930 Introduction The active gliding club at Chipping has a continuous history since 1950 and ample records of activities and developments. This is a happy outfit based on self-help. It has not out-grown reliance on effort freely offered, has not felt the need to employ staff, but has kept an excellent spirit among its members. These ideas allowed us to grow steadily with sound finances, while holding fees and charges as low as possible, hence allowing many people to contribute in very valuable ways. Our history is well worth recording while some of the original people are able to collate and decipher the early papers, put names to faces on the photographs, and reminisce. Previous gliding activities in Lancashire started from 1910, and have been included because of their great interest, and because they have largely gone without mention elsewhere. The Leeming-Prince-Wood glider of 1924 was flown in Manchester. The English Electric Wren of 1923 was made in Preston, a motor glider years ahead of its time. Two local gliding clubs were formed in 1930, at Preston and Blackpool. An ATC gliding school in Blackpool from 1942-1948 helped to sow seeds for the eventual Blackpool & Fylde Gliding Club. Jack Aked was the proprietor and his story is told in some detail; sometimes it will appear that we thought he was inhibiting development, perhaps he was more wise than we gave him credit, but he is remembered with affection and thanks for the very great contributions he made in so many ways to the successful founding of this thriving club, between 1950 and his death in 1979.
