David the king begot by her who had been the wife of Uriah. 7 Solomon begot , Rehoboam begot , and Abijah begot Asa. 8 Asa begot , Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot . 9 Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot , and Ahaz begot . 10 Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot . 11 Josiah begot and his brothers about the time they were carried away to . 12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel. 13 Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor. 14 Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud. 15 Eliud begot , Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob. 16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ. :1-16 (NKJV) LUKE IS RECORDING MARY’S GENEALOGY Luke is following the line of Mary, Jesus’ blood relative through David’s son, Nathan MATTHEW IS RECORDING JOSEPH’S GENEALOGY Matthew is following the line of Joseph, Jesus’ legal father, through David’s son, Solomon Since there was no specific Koine, Greek word for “son-in-law,” Joseph was called the “son of Heli” by marriage to Mary, Heli’s daughter. Through either Mary or Joseph’s line, Jesus is a descendant of David and therefore eligible to be the . Tracing a genealogy through the mother’s side is unusual, but so was the virgin birth. Luke’s explanation is that Jesus was the son of Joseph, “…so it was thought” (Luke 3:23). One of the greatest take-aways in the genealogies of Jesus is that God used common, ordinary, broken people to bring the Messiah of God into the world. Those who are absent are the most important part of the genealogies of Jesus. Perfect people. Stay on course for the main purpose God has for you—to be an integral part of the delivery system of the gospel of Jesus Christ. " 22:28-30 (NKJV) The second genealogy is in Luke 3:23-38. This is the genealogy of Mary, and it does not come through Solomon but comes through another son of David, Nathan. There is no curse and no judgment on that line. The Lord Jesus Christ was virgin born, and He came through Mary's line. That is where He got the blood title to the throne of David. Genesis 3:15 (NKJV) WE BEGIN TO SEE THIS PLAYED OUT WHEN , PROMPTED BY THE DECEIVER SATAN, MURDERS HIS BROTHER SATAN ATTEMPTS TO CONTAMINATE THE PRE-FLOOD GENE-POOL ENSLAVING THE PEOPLE OF GOD IN EGYPT AND SEEKING TO KILL THE DELIVERER , WHEN HE WAS JUST A BABY HAMAN’S PLOT TO EXTERMINATE THE THE KILLING OF THE BABY BOYS TWO YEARS AND YOUNGER BY KING HEROD SOON AFTER THE BIRTH OF JESUS THE But Satan continues his attempt to thwart the gospel delivery system. He just needs to stop you! But be reminded, God will provide a way of escape from the attempts of the enemy to thwart you as part of God’s gospel delivery system. You are a vital part of God’s gospel delivery system. I want to stay a part of the delivery system. And always be a part of the delivery system through my offspring!!!!!!!!!
