The Crimson Tide will get COACHING STAFF underway at 9 a.m. CT on Monday and will face a fi eld that includes nationally-ranked teams UCLA (No. 2), Arkansas (No. 3), Duke (No. 4), Stanford (No. 5), USC (No. 6), Arizona (No. 7), Texas (No. 10), South Head Coach Mic Potter Carolina (No. 11) and Northwestern (No. 17). Oklahoma State and host Minnesota round out the fi eld. Alma Mater Cortland State, 1977 Assistant Coach Susan Rosenstiel Alma Mater Florida, 1996 Alabama Boasts Three of the World’s Top Amateur Golfers: Alabama enters the 2018-19 season with a line-up that features three of the top 10 amateur golfers in the world according to the latest TEAM INFORMATION Women’s World Amateur Golf Rankings. Junior Kristen Gillman is currently ranked No. 3, while senior 2017-18 Stroke Play Record 163-7-1 (.956) Lauren Stephenson is No. 4. Newcomer Jiwon Jeon, who fi nished second to Gillman at the 2018 U.S. 2017-18 SEC Finish 2nd (stroke play) Amateur, is No. 9 in this week’s rankings. 2017-18 NCAA Regional Finish 1st 2017-18 NCAA Championships Finish 2nd Crimson Tide No. 1 in Golfweek Preseason Top 30: The Alabama women’s golf team will enter the Letterwinners Returning/Lost 3/3 2018-19 season as the top-ranked program in the Golfweek Preseason Top 30. This marks the second Newcomers 5 season in a row the Crimson Tide women have opened as the magazine’s No. 1 team. Joining Alabama in Home Course Ol’ Colony the top fi ve are UCLA, Arkansas, Duke and Stanford, followed by USC, Arizona, Kent State, Washington PROGRAM HISTORY and Texas to round out the top 10, respectively.     EXECUTIVE REPORT FOR THE YEAR APRIL 2016 TO MARCH 2017 This report covers the activities and achievements of Womens Golf South Africa for the above-mentioned period which was again, an exceedingly full year with several highlights. NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS NOMADS ROSE BOWL 54 HOLE GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP, PORT ELIZABETH, 21 – 22 MARCH 2016 This was the 7th Rose Bowl Championship run by WGSA and 5th sponsored by Nomads; the event was hosted by Port Elizabeth Golf Club. The weather was indecisive starting out with heavy rain, then sunshine and winds, however play was not delayed. Our top 66 junior girls, 43 of them in the Championship division, enjoyed the challenges the course had to offer with a close finish. The winner was Catherine Lau (GN) (213 – 75, 69, 69), finishing three strokes ahead of Symone Henriques (GAU) (216). This was Catherine’s second Rose Bowl title as she won this prestigious event in 2013. The 10 to 18 handicap division was won by Cleo Jordaan (GN) on 252 (84, 85, 83) with La-eeqah Adams (WP) as runner up on 257. The Stableford Bronze division (19 – 25 handicaps) was won by Kristen Basson (WP) on 67 points. The D division was won by Mikah Poonawassy (NC) on 72 points. 3 Hole live scoring was provided for the duration of the tournament for all divisions in both stroke play and Stableford format. SANLAM SA WOMEN’S AMATEUR STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS, WESTLAKE GOLF CLUB, 24 - 26 APRIL 2016 The beautiful Westlake Golf Course with its panoramic views was the venue for this 54 hole stroke play event comprising a total of 98 players, including entries from Zimbabwe.

    EXECUTIVE REPORT FOR THE YEAR APRIL 2017 TO MARCH 2018 This report covers the activities and achievements of Womens Golf South Africa for the above-mentioned period which was again, an exceedingly full year with several highlights. NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS NOMADS ROSE BOWL 54 HOLE GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP, ROYAL DURBAN, 3 – 4 APRIL 2017 This was the 8th Rose Bowl Championship run by WGSA and 6th sponsored by Nomads; the event was hosted by Royal Durban Country Club. Royal Durban Country Club may have been bathed in sun for much of the day, but the conditions belied the severity of wind gusts that proved hugely challenging for the 66 juniors competing in the first two rounds of the Nomads SA Girls Rose Bowl Championship on Monday. WGSA “B” Squad Player Kaiyuree Moodley (GAU) claimed the 2017 Nomads SA Girl’s Rose Bowl Championship with a determined performance. Moodley edged out former champion Chiara Contomathios from Wanderers by one shot and finished two strokes clear of Ekurhuleni duo Kiera Floyd and Caitlyn Macnab on a score of 234 (80, 82, 72). The 10 – 18 handicap division was won by Elham Shaik (KZN) on 276 (88, 91, 97) two shots ahead of Demi Lamp (KZN) on 278 (96, 96, 86). The stableford Bronze Division was won by Kamaya Moodliar (KZN) with 82 points and Mikah Poonawassy (NC) was runner up with 72 points. Blackberries were used for the live scoring in all divisions. The Nomads and WGSA sponsorship enabled ten girls to be chaperoned and for all their tournament, travel, accommodation and meal costs to be covered by the sponsorship.
