Admission free. Foyer Folk: Dave Ellis & Boo Howard Sat 15 Feb, 8.00pm This duo creates acoustic music at its very best. Dave’s individual style, drawing from folk, blues and jazz accompanies the deep, earthy tones of Boo’s bass playing, sublime vocals and mesmerising harmonies. £8 Harvington Duo Sat 29 Feb, 8.00pm Barbara and Danielle first played together at Harvington Hall accompanying Regency Dance, leading them to explore a flute and guitar repertoire on modern and period instruments. Danielle performs with various fretted instruments and Barbara plays flutes and recorders. £2 Foyer Folk: Oujamaflip & Julie July Acoustic Trio Sat 14 Mar, 8.00pm Known for energetic live sets, local duo Oujamaflip play a mix of original and traditional music in folk and Eastern European styles. The Julie July Acoustic Trio pay a heartfelt tribute to the great singer-songwriter, Sandy Denny, from dreamy acoustic melodies to driving progressive folk-rock. £8 Foyer Folk: Johnny Coppin Sat 18 Apr, 8.00pm Singer-songwriter Johnny Coppin plays guitar and piano, creating a melodic and evocative sound. He began his career as one of the founder members of folk band, Decameron before going solo, and has since recorded over twelve albums. He presents Folk Roots on BBC Radio Gloucestershire. £9 Pershore Arts: How Do They Do It? Thu 30 Apr, 8.00pm Members of Pershore Arts invite you to come along to meet the artists, see their work and discover what sparks their creative side. Admission free. Foyer Folk: Reivers’ Gallows Sat 9 May, 8.00pm This four-piece from the Forest of Dean perform a mix of English and Irish folk tunes and songs, with a dash of sea salt for good measure. Expect an evening of foot stomping and sing along music! £8 WELCOME As we get set for spring we have a packed programme ahead. Our live events line-up includes the Orchestra of the Swan, ABBA tribute Thank You for the Music, and Hats Off to Led Zeppelin. Presenter and entomologist George McGavin will be sharing his tales from television, plus there are theatre productions Choice Grenfell and Roald Dahl & the Imagination Seekers. Via satellite we have world class theatre, operas and ballets, a tribute to Vienna from Jonas Kaufmann, and the concert Michael Ball & Alfie Boe: Back Together. There’s the opportunity to see David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet beamed in live from the premiere and to join in with the VE Day 75 end of WWII anniversary commemorations. Inspired by Jacqueline du Pré The Cellist is Marston’s first work for The Royal Ballet Main Stage. A masterpiece of subtlety and invention set to music by Chopin, Robbins’ Dances at a Gathering, is an exercise in pure dance for five couples. Tuesday 3 March - 7.15pm Tickets: £16, 16 & under £10 Riverdance 25th Anniversary Show Recorded at the 3Arena, Dublin This beloved family favourite is celebrated the world over for its Grammy Award-winning music and the thrilling energy of its Irish and international dance. Filmed live at the 3Arena, the exact spot where it all began 25 years ago, the 25th Anniversary Gala Performance will bring Riverdance to the big screen for the very first time! Friday 6 March - 7.15pm; Sunday 8 March - 3.00pm Tickets: £14, 16 & under £10 2hrs (inc interval) Fidelio Live from the Royal Opera House, London Jonas Kaufmann plays the political prisoner Florestan, and Lise Davidsen his wife Leonore (disguised as ‘Fidelio’) who daringly sets out to rescue him, in this new production of Beethoven’s masterpiece. The music is transcendent throughout and Tobias Kratzer’s new staging brings together the dark reality of the French revolutionary ‘Terror’ and our own time to illuminate Fidelio’s inspiring message of shared humanity. Tuesday 17 March - 7.15pm Tickets: £16, 16 & under £10 Sung in German with subtitles 5 EVENTS www.number8.org Orchestra of the Swan: Petite Symphonie Schubert Octet in D Major, D.72 Gounod Petite Symphonie Mozart Serenade for Winds in E-flat Major, K.375 Three elegant, delicate, and sweet little works in one evening. OOTS move from Schubert’s Octet in D Major, a winning combination of joviality, delicate melancholy, technical finesse, and rhythmic dash, to Gounod’s Petite Symphonie, which exhibits a classical clarity of form and phrase structure with shades of romantic harmony and expressivity. The evening culminates in the warm stateliness of Mozart’s Serenade in E-flat Major. A glorious opportunity to see OOTS principals sharing the spotlight. Cropthorne-with-Charlton First School bring you a show that squeezes all the fun and adventure of the old west into a wonderfully wild musical comedy. Something stinks in Splodge City - and it ain't the drains! Mad Dog McNut and his gang are running wild and Wilbur Hubbard, cowardly cook at the Fordoor Saloon lands the job no-one wants - Sheriff of Splodge. Luckily for Wilbur, Billie-Jo Brisket and her faithful steed Lightning roll into town to lend a hand, and suddenly the race is on to save the town. It's a rootin-tootin tale of crazy cowboys, barmy baddies, masked heroes and hidden gold! This event is a private hire. Thursday 26 March - 1.00pm; Friday 27 March - 6.00pm Tickets: £9, 16 & under £4.50 6 01386 555488 EVENTS Anne Frank: Parallel Stories Helen Mirren tells the story of Anne Frank’s life through the pages of her world famous diary in this big screen presentation. What would Anne’s life have been like had she survived? What would have happened to her hopes and dreams? How would she have reacted to the rekindling of antisemitism and racism today? This emotive telling is entwined with insight from historians and the stories of five Holocaust survivors (Arianna Szörenyi, Sarah Lichtsztejn-Montard, Helga Weiss and sisters Andra and Tatiana Bucci) who shared Anne’s same fate of deportation but fortunately survived to live the life that Anne was denied. An evocative documentary which brings Anne’s tragic, yet incredible, story to life and explores why it still holds such great relevance today. Thursday 26 March - 7.00pm Tickets: £12, Student £10, 16 & under £10 1hr 40mins, Cert 12A Hats Off to Led Zeppelin Hats Off to Led Zeppelin have received many accolades over the years, most recently winning the Best Led Zeppelin Tribute for the seventh year running and the Best Tribute Act in the UK 2019. They are the only tribute act in the UK officially endorsed by Marshall Amplifiers and are managed by the son of Led Zeppelin’s legendary manager, Peter Grant. The band have performed with Queen, Ray Davies, Iron Maiden and Gerry & the Pacemakers amongst others, as well as playing some of the West End’s most enduring shows including We Will Rock You, Tommy, Jersey Boys and Buddy. The band are a truly professional outfit guaranteed to give you a night you won’t forget!
